Welcome to Bulbapedia, MQ Dread!

By creating your account you are now able to edit pages, join discussions, and expand the community-driven Pokémon encyclopedia. Before you jump in, here are some ground rules:

  • Be nice to everyone. It's in the code of conduct.
  • Make good edits. Preview them before you save to make sure they're perfect the first time around.
  • Use wikicode and link templates when adding content to a page.
  • Use proper grammar and spelling, and read the manual of style.
  • You can't create a userpage until you've added to the encyclopedia. It's a privilege. See the userspace policy.
  • Use talk pages to resolve editing disputes. Don't "edit war," or constantly re-edit/undo the same thing on a page.
  • If you have a question about something, be proactive. Take a look at our FAQ. If you're still stuck, ask for help. The staff won't bite.
  • Sign all talk page posts with four tildes (~~~~). This will turn into your name and the time you wrote the comment.
  • For more handy links, see the welcome portal.
Thank you, and have a good time editing here!

Moving articles

You don't move articles by copying and pasting the existing information onto the new article, you move it by clicking on the "move" tab (next to the history tab) that's located at the very top of the article. Thank you.--ForceFire 10:03, 1 May 2019 (UTC)

TCG Cards

The article name should be from the first English release and not reprint releases. Also, I noticed that you have the tendency to edit parts of the pages instead of everything. In the future, if you are going to edit these pages, make sure you have convert everything from Japanese information to English information. These are the parts you have to edit:

  • TCG Unreleased template
  • PokémoncardInfobox/Expansion with the English expansion name, rarity and cardno
  • It is part of the [English name] expansion
  • Abilities and Moves into English information
  • Pokédex: transdex to dex
  • Release information (if any)
  • Category:[English expansion]

Doing this will prevent one having to check back on all the information again and redoing the editing if any was missed. Sometimes when the expansion is a large set, it is very difficult for me to go back and check back the things you have or have not edited. Thanks. — Ruixiang95 12:44, 24 May 2019 (UTC)

The Preview Button

Instead of editing a page several times in a row, try using the preview button to make sure your edit looks the way you want it to. It's right next to the Save Page button. Please try it out, so as not to clog up the Recent Changes. Also, if you want to edit multiple sections of the page, make sure that you click "edit this page" at the top of the page rather than editing it by section. Thanks! --— Ruixiang95 01:21, 27 May 2019 (UTC)

Please use the Preview button before clicking Save to ensure that you have done it correctly. Thanks. — Ruixiang95 14:06, 29 May 2019 (UTC)
Again, please use the preview button. You have been doing multiple edits for the same page. And make sure to check first before saving and/or moving pages. — Ruixiang95 05:18, 2 July 2019 (UTC)
Once again, please use the preview button. Five edits in a short time span is not acceptable. Also, DO NOT move the pages for Unified Minds until you saw the cards yourself. Pokebeach may have received the official set listing but Bulbapedia DO NOT take information from PokeBeach. Thanks. — Ruixiang95 13:30, 3 July 2019 (UTC)

- Sorry once again, noted. I will be more mindful and careful in the future - unsigned comment from MQ Dread (talkcontribs)

Redirecting to non-existing articles

Please don't make redirects for non-existing articles. They are unneeded and a tad misleading. They should be made once the target article has been created. Thank you.--ForceFire 13:25, 3 July 2019 (UTC)

TCG moving to English name

Please DO NOT create redirects and/or moved any pages in the future unless you can do it right. Because of you doing it wrong, it's now very difficult to set things right. Leave redirecting and moving pages to those more senior in the TCG area. Thank you. — Ruixiang95 17:35, 4 July 2019 (UTC)

Duly noted, is there any area where I can learn how to create pages that have symbol in the name (eg: **'s **). MQ Dread 23:48, 4 July 2019 (UTC)
I'll reiterate the point Ruixiang made in July about referencing Pokébeach. While it is frequently a reputable source of information, we don't know where this list has come from as there are no supporting images (such as an official checklist) and should be treated as speculation. Similar problems arise when there are instances of Pokémon cards with the same name—we don't know if they will retain the same ordering of their Japanese equivalent or if they will be unexpectedly sourced from promotional cards. Without seeing the physical cards, we shouldn't jump to conclusions. This isn’t a news site and there’s no particular rush to move these. I appreciate the work you’re doing to keep things up to date, but I’d also like things to be taken with more care. As I’m sure you’re aware, the English sets have been monstrously large as of late, making any potential remedial changes that more time-consuming.
As for your question, anything you place with two sets of square brackets ([[ and ]]) will create a link. I'm not sure what articles would require asterisks, but there are plenty of articles containing apostrophes. With regards to the latter, ensure you use apostrophes that appear if you were typing in the editor (') rather than those copied from programs such as Word (‘) as they are formatted differently. ~~nuva-kal 13:49, 5 July 2019 (UTC)
Please preview before hitting the Submit button to prevent double editing. It is not a race, do it right the first time. Also, edit the whole page together and not by sections. Lastly, DO NOT move ANY Item/Supporter and Stadium cards. Thanks. — Ruixiang95 09:21, 16 August 2019 (UTC)

Blanking the page

Please do not blank a page by deleting all information from it. If you do it wrongly, which you shouldn't have, please add the {{delete}} template on it instead so that an admin can delete the page. — Ruixiang95 09:31, 16 August 2019 (UTC)

Future English AND Japanese releases

I saw the so-called "official" set list of Cosmic Eclipse listed on the PokeBeach website. The "official" set list only came from the mouth of PokeBeach, you do not know if the official set list is real or not. Regardless, you are not allowed to copy any information from other fan websites. If you do happen to see a real official set list of ALL FUTURE English expansions, do post a link to that website in the Edit Summary section when editing. Due to your past habit of copying information from PokeBeach, I have requested a protection of the Cosmic Eclipse page. The page will only be opened for editing on the October 26th, 2019, the Prerelease event for Cosmic Eclipse. Even this, please do not move the pages to their respective "supposedly official" English names until you see the official list, and/or Youtube pack openings video. Thank you! — Ruixiang95 03:32, 12 October 2019 (UTC)
