Fossil disagreement

Altruis (talkcontribs) and I disagree on the Fossils used to restore Dracovish in JN051. Can you help? --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 19:46, 17 January 2021 (UTC)

I understand. I brought up the issue with the other staff members. While I'm leaning towards the conservative approach of assuming this is another liberty taken from by the anime, it will have an impact on several pages (Ash's Dracovish, for one), so I want to discuss a plan of action regardless of our conclusion. - Chosen (Talk) 20:15, 17 January 2021 (UTC)
I understand. But I also saw your reuploads of the Fossil combination sprites. Those look like the only not possible combinations: two head pieces together and two leg pieces together. --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 22:10, 17 January 2021 (UTC)
Wait, actually, are those actually their incorrectly swapped game sprites? I get it. But anyway, the anime image titles don't now match the Fossils they depict. --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 22:29, 17 January 2021 (UTC)

Deletion request

Could you delete the "Wikstrom's Scyther" redirect page I created? --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 12:45, 21 February 2021 (UTC)

User:Hikaru_Wazana#Candidates_to_delete
Hi, I would like to know if the pages in this section can be deleted? I think they are not going anywhere, so there is no point in keeping them.--Hikaru Wazana (talk) 16:42, 21 February 2020 (UTC)
All requested pages deleted. - Chosen (Talk) 01:06, 22 February 2021 (UTC)
Thanks.--Hikaru Wazana (talk) 01:36, 22 February 2020 (UTC)
There are multiple unused redirect pages leading to a section on Goh's page that no longer exists. Could you remove them? --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 16:16, 12 May 2021 (UTC)
Can I ask where? Which ones? The Broken Redirects page only refers to fully deleted pages, so if the section doesn't exist, it will still redirect to the top of Goh's page. - Chosen (Talk) 03:22, 13 May 2021 (UTC)
If you go to the list of pages linking to Goh's page, and view 500 pages at a time, on the second page, there's a group of redirect pages to Goh's minor Pokémon, which use his and Cerise Park's Japanese names. I was referring to those. I hope you understand what I am referring to now. --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 08:08, 13 May 2021 (UTC)
Thanks for clearing that up. I'll take a look. - Chosen (Talk) 13:42, 13 May 2021 (UTC)
No problem. Your solution is perfectly good. Next up: the title of BW092 was recently edited on Bulbapedia from "Ash, Iris and Trip: Then There Were Three!" to "Ash, Iris, and Trip: Then There Were Three!", with a comma added after "Iris". I checked the title card from the actual episode, and indeed, this seems to hold true. So, should the redirect pages with this slightly incorrect title be deleted? --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 14:17, 13 May 2021 (UTC)

(resetting indent)Personally, I would keep both up, since other offical sources use the other format. - Chosen (Talk) 14:44, 13 May 2021 (UTC)

Sure. I'm fine with that. I've already started editing the links around Bulbapedia to include the extra comma. --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 14:46, 13 May 2021 (UTC)
Alright, thanks. Keep it up. - Chosen (Talk) 15:49, 13 May 2021 (UTC)
Thanks. I actually managed to do it already. --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 17:38, 13 May 2021 (UTC)

Edit request

Could you edit the "New episode" template to add a link to Chloe's Eevee in the "Pokémon" section, given that it now has its own article, as well as hide Cinderace, since the last two episodes have shown it's not guaranteed to appear in every episode? --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 12:10, 7 March 2021 (UTC)

Done. - Chosen (Talk) 18:26, 7 March 2021 (UTC)
You forgot to remove the 's from Eevee's part. --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 19:09, 7 March 2021 (UTC)

Could you edit the "Trainerentry" template to redirect "Galactic Grunt" to "Team Galactic Grunt"? --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 15:34, 27 October 2021 (UTC)
I'll do it later tonight. Trainerentry is a high-traffic, complex template, and if I go making changes to it during peak hours, it may cause slowdowns. - Chosen (Talk) 15:52, 27 October 2021 (UTC)
Fine by me. --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 16:34, 27 October 2021 (UTC)

How do uncredited voice roles get approved?

This wiki seems to have an inconsistent policy on inferring uncredited roles for certain voice actors. For instance, Ikue Ohtani rarely if ever gets official credit listings for any of her voice roles besides Pikachu to my knowledge, but her page here lists many roles besides Pikachu. I noticed that years ago someone added Sawyer (then known only as Shōta) to that list, but commented it out because there was no official credit for that role. Then, you uncommented it, presumably because it was obvious enough that she voiced him without any official credit.

I tried the same thing recently with Team Rocket's Rotom Phone where I added the rather obvious Ikue Ohtani role (it was even on the Japanese wiki already) but commented it out due to lack of official credit. But an Editorial Board member simply removed it instead. So I'm wondering how exactly Sawyer got approved and the other role didn't. Is it just different Bulbapedia staff having different policies? Or did you end up finding an official source for Sawyer? I'm legitimately curious. PaperSplash (talk) 21:11, 15 June 2021 (UTC)

In my defense in regards to Sawyer, I beleive there was press materials, such as interviews with Ohtani, during XY/XY&Z that confirmed her role as Sawyer. However, it was my mistake to unhide the credit simply because it was unhidden on his character page.
Our official voice actor speculation policy is stated here. - Chosen (Talk) 15:38, 16 June 2021 (UTC)

Rival Tech

Given that you just included Lear as a rival because he's got the "Rival Tech" in Masters EX, should N count as a rival too, since he also has it? --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 13:29, 28 July 2021 (UTC)

Actually, it's the Rival Strike with N, not Tech. But my point still stands. --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 13:39, 28 July 2021 (UTC)

Hikaru Wazana

Over time, I've tried giving User:Hikaru Wazana advices on how to edit Bulbapedia and Archives, like what link templates to use and when, and how to maintain a consistent tense within a text. Despite all of that, however, HW still keeps repeating those mistakes she uploading images with questionable notability. Examples include these edits on Chloe's page and this Water Stone image. The image's notability is questionable, since we already have an image of that stone, where it's in much better focus. --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 18:20, 4 August 2021 (UTC)

Really? I mean, REALLY???
Let me get this straight...the last episode detailed on Chloe's page was aired on September 8th of last year(Eevee capture episode). ALMOST ONE YEAR. Chloe's page goes MONTHS without any updates, even though the character gains immense focus in the anime after that. What's irrelevant about the content I put there?
Again, of the three protagonists of Journeys, Chloe's page has the fewest people concerned about updating.
I didn't go to the admin to complain about you putting game content on the anime character page(aka. "Giovanni's" Koffing) without any discussion about it. The rule of confirming something before posting seems to apply only when it's convenient. Instead of complaining, it wasn't more profitable, you and I coordinated efforts and brought that page up to date?
But even so, I've been thinking about giving up collaborating with right here for some time. This kind of thing only helps more in this.--Hikaru Wazana (talk) 18:50, 04 August 2021 (UTC)
With regards to Chloe's page, I agree that it is in great need of updating and any way either of you can contribute, instead of immediately dismissing, is appreciated. Even if there are issues with tense and grammar, it would be poor form, in my opinion, to infract Hikaru for failing to completely understand the English language. On the other hand, I don't think the Water Stone and Galarian Rapidash need to be on Chloe's page; rather, they could find places on their respective episode pages, such as in the plot or summary of major events. - Chosen (Talk) 23:32, 4 August 2021 (UTC)
It seems I'm not the only one who has a problem with HW's writing style. Also, I feel HW's above response was unnecessarily aggressive. --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 13:10, 5 August 2021 (UTC)
Yes, it's really cool to read others complaining about when you try to collaborate with the site, after all, it's no work to search for images, take screens of the episodes, put them in standard size, upload, create pages for specific characters or trainers' Pokémon so that others can come complaining nominally about what you post. But you won, I removed everything I put there. I left the page as it was before. For me it's over,
Let's see when someone will be able to put something back there.--Hikaru Wazana (talk) 13:20, 05 August 2021 (UTC)
Really Finnish? You had to bully someone for trying to improve a page? I don’t see you adding that information or going in after to fix it up. This is a community. We should be helping each other, not driving them away out of pettiness.--Pikablu (talk) 13:58, 5 August 2021 (UTC)
I'm not bullying anyone. I simply stated what's been happening: I've tried to give advice to HW many times in the past, but the sane mistakes keep on occuring. It gets tiresome to have to fix similar mistakes all the time. --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 14:37, 5 August 2021 (UTC)
It's true that some pages, like Chloe's, need more content, but the quality of the content also needs to be good and notable enough. --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 14:40, 5 August 2021 (UTC)
If you have a dispute with another member's edits, moving straight to a Senior Administrator and trying to have your will done is not the way to go and will result in animosity from them - and from the member feeling bullied - as a result. Please discuss things with the member in good faith and attempt to come to a consensus on what the page needs. Force Fire already took action and it seems Hizaku has also moved on.
For everyone involved, if you feel information should be added to the page - or, similarly, if you feel information should not be necessary on the page - please start a discussion on this talk page and come to a consensus. That's why articles have talk pages: to foster discussion. We are here to assist if needed beyond that, and I advise contacting a Junior or regular level Administrator to request such a review; it can be escalated as necessary. I hope we can close this matter until such a review may be needed. Thank you. CycloneGU (talk) 15:42, 5 August 2021 (UTC)

Template:Worldcoronation

Is the protection of this template necessary? It may have to be edited quite frequently, and doing it would be easier of it wasn't protected. PS. Could you add Cynthia to it? --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 19:09, 20 August 2021 (UTC)

I made the edits to the template and changed the protection to semi-protected. - Chosen (Talk) 20:00, 20 August 2021 (UTC)
Thank you. That's good enough for me. --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 21:40, 20 August 2021 (UTC)

Photodex

Hey, I was wondering if you could explain your move from "Photodex" to "List of Pokémon by Photodex order" a while back. Was there a discussion somewhere?

When I saw it, I was actually hoping you would create a proper Photodex article within the next days and just have the list be elsewhere, but now that that hasn't happened I was wondering if I could create a proper Photodex article myself, or else suggest to move it back, etc. Nescientist (talk) 14:31, 22 August 2021 (UTC)

The move was to facilitate a proper Photodex page, yes. It also makes it conistent with other side game numbering lists (i.e. List of Pokémon by Fiore Browser number, List of Pokémon by Ransei Gallery order, ect.)
A proper Photodex article, I beleive, would start by detailing the various menu options of the Photodex and the star and ranking system. If we were to replace the list itself, I think I would like a breakdown all locations and poses for the Pokémon and what star rank they correspond to, without taking information from unwanted sources. - Chosen (Talk) 15:02, 22 August 2021 (UTC)
Alright. I might try something in the next days, if I find the time. (Since I won't do that, it'd certainly be helpful if you had the means to have relevant pictures uploaded somehow.)
About the list, I didn't mean to replace it. (Actually, I was thinking the list was fine, and ideally all that poses and star rank stuff should just be at the course pages, with species pages linking to relevant courses.) Nescientist (talk) 15:16, 22 August 2021 (UTC)
If you post a draft on your User: space and direct me to it, I'll take a look at it tomorrow while I have the time. I have a copy of the game, so adding a few images shouldn't be much of a problem. - Chosen (Talk) 15:18, 22 August 2021 (UTC)
The next days as in definitely not today =P But thanks, I'll let you know! Nescientist (talk) 15:21, 22 August 2021 (UTC)
Started at User:Nescientist/Photodex, please feel free to complete. As for pictures, I'd suggest a complete Pokémon detail page (Vivillon?) and a (preferably complete) detailed course map, and maybe a picture of the album cover as the main one (that's part of an animation that won't always show up). Nescientist (talk) 23:35, 25 August 2021 (UTC)

(resetting indent)I've uploaded a few of my own pictures based on the three menu functions. I don't know if I have a completed course map with Pokémon, however. - Chosen (Talk) 02:21, 26 August 2021 (UTC)

I think it's ready. (Not sure if the crystabloom picture is actually necessary, though.) Not sure which title you want to move it to; the languages currently are just "Photodex". Nescientist (talk) 22:28, 4 September 2021 (UTC)
Template:Spindata/NewSnap links to the Photodex list. Should it stay that way, or should it be changed to link to the Photodex article? --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 17:27, 5 September 2021 (UTC)
That's fine. There are links similar in the Ranger spindata templates too. - Chosen (Talk) 04:17, 6 September 2021 (UTC)
Now that I take a look at that, yeah. You're right. It's fine as it is. --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 10:13, 6 September 2021 (UTC)

Userbox images

Hi! I was just wondering why exactly you changed the images from sprites to artwork in the Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl userbox templates that I created. I feel that using sprites is more consistent with other userbox templates (such as the Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire ones). Pale Prism (talk) 04:48, 13 December 2021 (UTC)

The User Version templates have used artwork since X and Y, including {{User Omega Ruby}} and {{User Alpha Sapphire}}. - Chosen (Talk) 15:06, 13 December 2021 (UTC)
…Huh. Well, I don't know what the heck I was looking at, but I could've sworn that the ORAS userboxes used sprites… Carry on! Pale Prism (talk) 23:05, 13 December 2021 (UTC)

Calyrex's quotes

Hi, Chosen. Surely you've notice I copy your sandbox article about Calyrex. I just do that in order to fulfill a Quotes sub-article, not taking a credit. I've check 3 movies on Youtube to see any quotes, and now I've managed to complete this sub-article. There's a link to quotes I have manage to gather about it. You may feel free to copy them and paste to your own Calyrex article and move it to mainspace. A reason it don't contain other answers like Freezington T-shirt or samba dance (>.>?) is most of videos on Youtube contain a quest on rightful track, with no detours... and I feel a bit awkward about them. But regardless, you have now near-complete quote to your Calyrex character article. ---Modikisha (talk) 14:39, 29 December 2021 (UTC)

Sorry for the late reply, Modikisha. Your contributions are greatly appreciated. Next time however, you are welcome to edit my User: drafts with any information you might find relevant. The ultimate goal of Userspaced page, after all, is to be mainspaced. - Chosen (Talk) 00:23, 31 December 2021 (UTC)

Event templates

Hey, Ive been seeing that you merged the event templates that I split, I just wanted to say that the reason I did this is because games can't communicate with others that have different origin marks, BDSP and SwSh have Pkm files that are totally different and are incompatible if it weren't for something like home or 3rd party tools like pkhex to convert the Pokemon files, so to me it made sense as that was what always happened. LGPE also has separate templates from other gen 7 games due to there not being any communication between LGPE and the 3ds line. For legends arceus this gets even more problematic because the templates include things that aren't a thing this game, such as ribbons and held items, and Pokemon distributed to this game will probably not have any data for it (though we will have to see about ribbons) for this reason a template without these parameters kind of makes sense to me.

Also for the Gen 6/7 Event Head templates, I would move the sprite box 70px instead of 40px (as it is on the gen8/LGPE template) because right now the sprite tend to obscure a lot of text and makes it hard to read 4iamking (talk) 17:03, 24 January 2022 (UTC)

The difference between PE and 3DS and SwSh and BDSP is that, assumedly, HOME will eventually make transfer possible for applicable Pokémon. While I'll concede that it is highly likely that Arceus will not be as freely compatible, due to how stats have been presented in pre-release footage, the fact remains we do not know for certain how inter-game communication will proceed from here on out.
As for the template, between SwSh and BDSP, the only difference appears to be in the origin mark. I do not see the need for an entirely different template when the problem can be solved with a parameter. - Chosen (Talk) 18:48, 24 January 2022 (UTC)
I was also talking about the in-game template, specifically here SWSH is a fundamentally different entity from BDSP. As far as HOME compatibility goes, we don't know to what extent it will be implemented, HOME compatibility could also mean that you will be able to store Pokemon in a home box, but that doesn't mean that much in terms of transferability (or maybe its only 1 way)... Either way every time a Pokemon is moved from SWSH to BDSP or vice versa, the Pkm file needs to be reformatted from pk8 to pb8 formats this is the fundamental reason why BDSP isn't compatible with SWSH. as far as Arceus goes, obviously we will know more once the game is actually out and it can be checked properly, but at present its not just stats, we know from screenshots and other information that abilities aren't present (as in LGPE, they will probably be in Pokemon data, are invisible to the player and have no effect in-game, held items aren't a thing, ribbons aren't a thing (probably Pokémon data will allow for it), but LGPE also allowed for ribbons in the data and those events never gave one to any of the LGPE event Pokemon. I only made the BDSP template because I had made the separate LA one and it seemed appropriate, but other than different origin marks and no dynamaxing, I agree there isn't much different about Pokemon in these games on a surface level.
If you ask me, I feel like the event page should be split by origin marking anyway because with how different Pokemon are formatted between games (and with so many games releasing) and how different the Pokémon pool itself is without the national dex. This could get messy, but I didn't want to do it by myself, that's why I just wrote it as a suggestion on the talk page. 4iamking (talk) 19:30, 24 January 2022 (UTC)
I think I understand. To begin with, the reason why the list of in-game event Pokémon in PE and BDSP were split wasn't primarily because of their format, but for space concerns; if they were all on the same page, they would break due to them exceeding the template include size. The templates used need not be changed dramatically unless the mechanics of the game are changed dramatically as well, as is the case with PE and Arceus.
As for your templates, I will move the BDSP templates to your User: space for further evaluation and edits. This way, you can continue working on them until we understand the limitations of HOME transfers. I will keep the Arceus templates as-is, but they will not be used until the game comes out, as is standard with game releases here. In the future, please make these templates in your User: space like so, and direct them to a member of staff for further inspection. - Chosen (Talk) 20:39, 24 January 2022 (UTC)
That seems fair :) To be honest its all rather new too, because before the Nintendo Switch, all games within the same generation were always integrated with one another (and side games like XD/colo also were adapted to it), this would make the need for separate templates mute. These issues only started on switch games when they started removing features from games (Pokemon, stats & attacks), and adding/removing gimmicks like dynamax mid-generation. To compensate for this every release basically needs to format Pokemon files differently and therefore be rendered incompatible with other releases. Home can be the only link by reformatting everything. ORAS has the same structure as X&Y, and the same can be said for HGSS/DPPT and FRLG/RSE...4iamking (talk) 21:34, 24 January 2022 (UTC)
Hey :), Since you protected the LAevent/head template, could you change the offset from 70 to 90px (to align it with the other Gen 8 one, and also to not cut the icons off)?, also could probably add the LA ball icons / have a parameter for alphas (just to future proof incase there are such events). Also I think it makes sense to add a parameter for height to these templates as some Pokémon (such as starters) are height locked and this affects their open world appearance, still trying to get data for the 1 Happiny event we got so far but that seems to be height locked as well.4iamking (talk) 14:35, 30 January 2022 (UTC)
1) I'm not sure what your referring to with the "offset". If your talking about the image size, it's set to 90px by default.
2) I changed the Ball icons as requested.
3) For alphas/height and weight, I think it might be smart to wait and see if they are needed before adding them to the template. How did PE events handle height and weight?
I actually have my own request; as long your uploading HUD sprites, can you upload the scroll that appears next a move when it is mastered? I plan to use it in templates, as it is important information. - Chosen (Talk) 14:49, 30 January 2022 (UTC)
for (1); I mean this the icons are cutting into the neighbouring table because the offset is different (the table width, what I mean by offset should be 90px to prevent this), its also a problem in the Gen 6/7 templates where they are really cutting into neighbouring text. It's currently 70 pixels on the LA template and 40 pixels on the Gen 6/7 ones.
3) LGPE pokémon were never height locked, it was randomly assigned when the pokemon was given to the player, unless there's an event im missing it hasn't been a thing before. 4iamking (talk) 14:59, 30 January 2022 (UTC)

(resetting indent)Alright, the offsets should be fixed. As for Happiny's height and weight, what are they set to? It may be notable if they are not set to the Pokédex's default, but if it is not a recurring thing, it can probably stay in the blurb before the actual template. - Chosen (Talk) 15:11, 30 January 2022 (UTC)

0.62m / 25.9kg but its a small data set of 2 mons that I got, since its kinda hard to get a lot of codes for this. I would hesitate to write it in just based on this and probably should wait until someone dissects the wonder card for confirmation (also for mon's ability). The starters are 100% locked though, started 10 saves and every starter cyndaquil has 0.50m and 7.89kg. Also hate to nag, cause I can't change it, but the template is still using 4th gen ball sprites :P 4iamking (talk) 15:31, 30 January 2022 (UTC)
Alright, we'll leave things as they are for now. I fixed the Ball sprites. - Chosen (Talk) 15:52, 30 January 2022 (UTC)
Sounds good, looks good now :) 4iamking (talk) 16:06, 30 January 2022 (UTC)
in the LA template, as far as ribbons go, maybe changing the disclaimer to something along the lines of "Not Visible in Pokémon Legends: Arceus" is better than "Hidden from player sight"... as the Wonder Record files of the 3 events released so far do indeed have ribbon data in them, but at the moment this doesn't mean anything since the Pokémon isn't transferable to any other existing game, also some ribbons like Galar Champion aren't even in the Legends:Arceus game data. 4iamking (talk) 15:13, 25 February 2022 (UTC)
I will change the notices for that and the Abilities for that for now. - Chosen (Talk) 15:17, 25 February 2022 (UTC)
Now that we can see how much of a hack the Pokémon HOME update really is (only way it functions is by storing bits of data about a Pokémon on the cloud so that it can maintain the original Pokémon data when it is converted back to it's origin game's format), thats why when that doesn't happen stuff like met location data gets wiped... I would still prefer to split event articles by wonder record/pkm file formats as I think that makes the most sense and wonder records between SwSh and BDSP for example are not compatible the way Sun&Moon wonder records are compatible to USUM. But this isn't something I would do without someone else ok'ing it. One other thing I wanted to do and only was able to do about half way because of how sporadically the templates are protected is to streamline the entry bars on the locations, since listing "online" for every event is extremely redundant and we haven't had in person events at all for any of the switch games (baring 2 JPN pokémon center events that gave out only a few random items). I don't think we need this for non-locally distributed events. I was able to do it for the SWSH/BDSP events but the LAevent/head and the G7event/entrybottom (for LGPE) templates are protected so I wonder if you can add the proper parameters to it to finish this? Thanks!4iamking (talk) 12:56, 27 May 2022 (UTC)

(reset indent) Since I saw that you updated the G7 template with the type icons from the game (and I think it looks way better with this change), can we do the same to the Gen6 one using the [[File:Picross {{{type|}}}IC.png]] icons? The template is a bit out of place now, being the last one to not have that update. Also the Legends: Arceus template that I made can be deleted now, I incorporated all the game differences into the main generation 8 one (and updated the pages that were using it to use the main G8 template) so now we can go back to having just 1 template per generation. Think its better to use the same template if we are only going to have 1 page for all of the gen 8 events. :) -- 4iamking (talk) 18:14, 9 August 2022 (UTC)

I can change the G6 template, but I would like to change the type filenames to something more accurate, first. As for the LA and BDSP templates, those will be tagged with {{OldTemplate}}, as is standard practice. - Chosen (Talk) 03:09, 10 August 2022 (UTC)

Template:Pokémon for Legends Arceus

I recently saw your work-in-progress of a Legends: Arceus template, and made my own version with some adjustments: User talk:TehPerson/Pokémon/LA. It captures the same parameters as yours, but I've added absolute-positioning on the icons, so they don't shift the surrounding texts, and it uses the LA sprites, since we actually got the full set. Any input would be great. TehPerson (talk) 00:14, 11 February 2022 (UTC)

I think your template is much better! However, I would try thinking of a better place to put the scroll icon, if possible. Would the bottom right, with the Move category, be possible? - Chosen (Talk) 03:01, 11 February 2022 (UTC)
Anywhere would be possible. Do you want the Scroll icon to be overlaying next to Move Category, or have a cell next to it? TehPerson (talk) 04:28, 11 February 2022 (UTC)
Edit -- Just to see if you'd like it, I put the scroll icon right between the Type and Category cells, to keep the symmetry. I tried both the white and black scroll icons- the white one shows better here. TehPerson (talk) 04:40, 11 February 2022 (UTC)
That's great! Thanks! - Chosen (Talk) 04:46, 11 February 2022 (UTC)

Trivia

Main Page defaulting to mobile view

For whatever reason, my laptop always redirects https://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Main_Page to https://m.bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Main_Page. No other page on Bulbapedia does this, and it doesn't happen on any of the other computers I've tried it on. I've tried googling a solution but couldn't find anything, so I have no idea what I'm supposed to do. DrPumpkinz (talk) 08:37, 14 April 2022 (UTC)

The <span class="plainlinks"> is not necessary, as linking to the Archives can be easily accomplished with interwiki links, so http://archives.bulbagarden.net/wiki/File:HOME000.png could be linked with a:File:HOME000.png instead. Battle Chatelaine question

Do you have the quote that says that they are from Hoenn? I wanna add it as a reference.--MissDelibirda (talk) 15:09, 26 June 2022 (UTC)

See Morgan's quotes: "Here in Hoenn is where our Battle Maison was born—and me sisters and I, as well.", though you might want to double check that "me" there for <sic>. - Chosen (Talk) 15:12, 26 June 2022 (UTC)
Wiktionary says that "me" is also a variant of "my", so I have no need to double-check. I'll go and add it.--MissDelibirda (talk) 15:20, 26 June 2022 (UTC)

Manga Content

I started these items related to the manga, like an infobox for the general characters of this canon and a page for two tournaments with some relevance within the story. I wanted to know if this content is relevant to Bulbapedia, and when I talked to Force Fire at the time he told me this is not his area.

I wanted to know about the future of these pages because I have a list of pages that I'm going to ask for the content to be deleted, I'm just waiting to finish Journeys to see if they can be of any use(or maybe even before). Can you be helping me with this? - unsigned comment from Hikaru Wazana (talkcontribs)

National Pokedex

Hey, would it be possible to consider adding consistency on National Pokedex page like one user suggested?--Rocket Grunt 20:17, 16 August 2022 (UTC)

I responded to the topic. - Chosen (Talk) 01:11, 17 August 2022 (UTC)
Thank you very much! Now the list is really consistent which is very pleasing.--Rocket Grunt 13:19, 17 August 2022 (UTC)

Urshifu

Sorry, I didn't know the HOME sprites won't be permanent. How could I have known? (Rapid Strike Urshifu was added to the National Dex page after my suggestion, so it seemed like a done deal.) I still think that reverting those contributions was a bad move from a standpoint of future-proofing. At some point, no matter which art we will use, the two Urshifu forms will have to appear different. Making a redirect for the menusprite would have saved a lot of trouble and would have made the change to HOME sprites in the future seamless. Oneofthosedf (talk) (contribs) 21:05, 16 August 2022 (UTC)

Staff is carefully considering what we should do with regards to MS sprites. Personally, for large lists of game information, like Move pages, I would like to replace them with artwork. This way, Urshifu's forms would appear separate. However, it would require input on our parts to update the templates with new parameters, such as, for the sake of example, {{{form}}}. - Chosen (Talk) 00:52, 17 August 2022 (UTC)
I know how difficult it would be. I have been messing around with a new design with another user, and I will definitely try to go through the suggestion process in the future once I can make some free time. I used Sugimori artwork, because frankly, it works better on every level. Represents the Pokémon better, they are more visible. Just super difficult to implement. HOME artwork came up when I was discussing my suggestions with ForceFire, and we both voiced our oppositions towards it (though one of my biggest issues was the color inconsistency, which has been fixed in the Hisui update). I also learned about the switch to HOME artworks from Twitter, and people almost unanimously preferred Sugimori, but that's not important right now. Oneofthosedf (talk) (contribs) 01:24, 17 August 2022 (UTC)
I actually submitted a suggestion over on the Editor's Hub with regard to using artwork for move pages (and more). Please give it a look if you have time. Oneofthosedf (talk) (contribs) 19:24, 25 October 2022 (UTC)

Item Event Template

Heya! I've been thinking of making a template for all the item events based on the ones we currently use for Pokémon, to help organise the information on that page, since I feel like its a bit of an information mess and could use it... The results of my experimentation can be seen here where I tested it with all the current pre-order SV events. It uses the already existing event entry templates and consists of a Header and Footer template.

Im wondering what you think of this idea, and if it could be approved for mainspace before I do this for the older generations. :) -- 4iamking (talk) 08:13, 26 August 2022 (UTC)

I don't see why not. It should make those pages a little neater. - Chosen (Talk) 13:07, 26 August 2022 (UTC)
Can this be moved then, and i'll add it to the page? I can't suppress the redirect if I move it :) -- 4iamking (talk) 18:35, 26 August 2022 (UTC)

Update Moves for BDSP and LA

Hello, I'm just pointing out that the move template doesn't show TMs and Move Tutors for BDSP and LA. It should be split off, thanks. PinkYoshiGaming (talk) 16:46, 30 August 2022 (UTC)

Hi, Yoshi. I updated the template for BDSP, LA, and SV. - Chosen (Talk) 03:10, 31 August 2022 (UTC)

Am I allowed to do this? If so, is there a fast way to do it?

I asked ForceFire a few days ago, but he never answered me. Anyway, in the Pokemon GO section, every Pokemon that learns Frustration/Return has a symbol next to it. That symbol is also used for moves that can no longer be learned or require an Elite TM, so I think it'd be better replace it with a   and   respectively. Would this be allowed, and is there an easy way to do it? (ie, BulbaBot or something?) Thanks. ¿¡Unowninator?! (talk) 03:02, 4 September 2022 (UTC)

Poké Floats

Hey! I saw you recently added the Gen 3 MS sprites to the page, so I am asking you. Why are we sticking with the super ancient menu sprites on pages like these? I get that it's a from a game that was released during Generation 3, but it's not a Generation 3 game, or a Pokémon game per se. The menusprites are not in the game AFAIK (didn't play the game). So why not just use Sugimori? I get that it's an effort to push for consistency, but real consistency would be just using Sugimori everywhere, no? (which technically existed in Gen 3) The Pokémon are barely visible here, and the pixel art looks extra bad for monitors with higher resolution. [1] If height is the issue, we can just cut down the width, looks way more condensed.

I personally think these old menusprites shouldn't be used anywhere (it's OK to not use forms of official art, we don't use Global Link or Anime art either), but that's a story for another day. The community is so lucky to have such beautiful artwork for 99% of all Pokémon, we really shouldn't be bothered with using decades old pixel art that were made under serious limitations and aren't beloved by the fandom. Oneofthosedf (talk) (contribs) 13:18, 8 September 2022 (UTC)

The Gen III Menu sprites, for Gen I and II games, are because the menu sprites from those games aren't immediately identifiable enough. That being said, I am not against using Sugimori art for spin-off games, especially where there is no immediate analouge, like Mystery Dungeon's portaits. - Chosen (Talk) 14:47, 8 September 2022 (UTC)
May I add the Suigmori art to these pages, or should I ask for a second opinion? Oneofthosedf (talk) (contribs) 14:55, 8 September 2022 (UTC)
Go on ahead. - Chosen (Talk) 14:58, 8 September 2022 (UTC)

Poké Ball Images

Hey again, since you seem to do a lot of work on the templates, I have a suggestion: On the pages covering the individual types of Poké Balls, there should be images of Pokémon being sent out of the Poké Ball in question for each generation. For that, we'll need a summary template, the summary should read "(Pokémon species) being sent from a/an (Poké Ball type) in (games)", as well as a template to show the images by the generation. What do you think of the idea? PinkYoshiGaming (talk) 00:39, 19 October 2022 (UTC)

Protected templates and other things

Greetings! There are some protected pages that I cannot edit, but need a few minor tweaks.

There are definitely other things as well, but I suspect those require some discussions with staff. I feel like these are pretty straightforward. Thanks in advance. Oneofthosedf (talk) (contribs) 16:11, 5 December 2022 (UTC)

1) I beleive an overhaul of TypeEffectivness is in the works.
2) Done.
3) Fixed Moveentrytm. Lop/facility and Lop/facility8 should already support this by adding "game=8" to the applicable pages where it is used.
4) Fixed Tauros, Vivillon. I beleive Arceus, Kyogre, Hoopa, ect. are listed like that because that is how their forms, base or not, are described as by in-game Pokédexes. Is it not the same for base Necrozma?
5) Done. - Chosen (Talk) 17:33, 5 December 2022 (UTC)
4) I didn't know it was meant to correspond to the Pokedex descriptions, just found it weird that we don't do it on other pages, but it makes sense now. I still think it's redundant, but I'm fine with it.
Thanks. One more thing for now: I was also thinking about uploading the SV TM thumbnails and adding them to the TM Machine page, but I don't know what the files names and descriptions/licensing should be. I don't want to go ahead and just upload 171 images incorrectly when it takes as much effort to do it correctly, so I'd need help with that. Oneofthosedf (talk) (contribs) 21:05, 5 December 2022 (UTC)
I would go for "TM ### Thumbnail SV". - Chosen (Talk) 23:09, 5 December 2022 (UTC)

Event Wonder Cards

After wanting to do it for a while, I finally got around to removing all the wonder cards from the Switch era event pages, and adding the wonder card titles instead to the main event template. I feel this is a million times better since it simplifies these pages a lot; the wonder cards took up a ton of space and didn't really do much.... Only holdout that I wasn't able to do is the 1 LGPE Poké Ball event here since you made the LGPE item event template.

I was wondering if you could update the LGPE item template to add the Wonder card title header, and I don't know if it makes sense then to also mark these wonder card templates as legacy templates... though the BDSP one is at least still used on a few pages like Oak's Letter.-- 4iamking (talk) 02:39, 17 December 2022 (UTC)

Added the header to the PE item template. As for miscellaneous uses of the Wonder Card templates, would it be possible to replace them with event templates? What about older Wonder Cards? Are those okay since they generally contained less generic messages? - Chosen (Talk) 14:43, 17 December 2022 (UTC)
I mean I don't know if im the one to decide what to do with the older ones... 3DS events are also more complicated to cover cause of all the region locking at place.
In terms of how much value the templates, you probably could you can see for yourself how much use the BDSP one has in the Oaks letter page; and BDSP is unique cause it had those 2 event item distributions. And as for the event list well some of those pages are 170kb+ and you're just scrolling through endless lists of foreign language wonder cards. I personally don't like them and if I had the executive opinion would probably remove them but I do feel like they at least have more value than the ones on Nintendo switch. We also have an article listing the index's of all the 3DS wonder cards which I feel like should suffice for those who find it interesting.-- 4iamking (talk) 15:01, 17 December 2022 (UTC)

Pokedex images

Hi, as you are a member of the staff, I'll you if I can mainspace these two templates: Alolan Pokedex and Pladea Pokedex.--Rocket Grunt 16:54, 4 January 2023 (UTC)

Can I ask what these two templates would look like when put into practice? For example, would they be included inside the Pokédex entries or below them? - Chosen (Talk) 16:58, 4 January 2023 (UTC)
Right below, like some people are adding them already that way: Wingull.--Rocket Grunt 17:08, 4 January 2023 (UTC)
Right now, it seems the moderation team is against mainspacing the templates. In particular, the Alolan Pokédex template should clearly label SM portraits and USUM portraits. Personally, I also beleive the scrollbars are also uneccessary, as they make the template more bulky than they need to be. - Chosen (Talk) 22:33, 5 January 2023 (UTC)
Both done.--Rocket Grunt 21:35, 6 January 2023 (UTC)

Spanish and Italian name lists

Hey, Chosen. I was wondering if there's now any good reason to mainspace User:Bfdifan2006/List of Italian Pokémon names and User:Bfdifan2006/List of Spanish Pokémon names already.

Until Scarlet and Violet got released, the only Pokémon whose name differed in Spanish and Italian from the English one was Type: Null. However, since it was only one name, there was no reason to mainspace Raltseye's one-item lists about the same thing as I did. But since fourteen of the new Pokémon have this trait now (in addition to Type: Null), i.e. all of the Paradox Pokémon except for Koraidon and Miraidon, it's about time the outlier names get listed in a common place (one place per language).

BTW, I know the fourth column header in both tables on both pages says "Fail", but it's because the template that inserts that does not support the arguments "it" or "es" yet. Likewise, the entry template must be updated as well, to make links to the Spanish and Italian wikis on the fourth column. I also hid all the stuff that would otherwise put the page into categories intended for the mainspace, and will be revealed after moving.

If you agree, just tell me so, and I'll move the pages myself. --Bfdifan2006 (T/C) 20:59, 11 January 2023 (UTC)

Reformatting post-Dexit event pages

over a year ago, I made a proposal on the talk page to reformat the Nintendo Switch event pages, not gonna repeat everything here but I basically see 2 standout benefits for doing this:

  • 1 - It would make it simpler and more manageable to read when seeing what events you can obtain on a game specifically, in an era where a lot of Event Pokémon aren't compatible with other games of the same generation, and the event distributions themselves needing different templates due to game specific mechanics and coding quirks. (this wasn't a thing before LGPE, Gen-7 and before all events of the same generation shared a template format which allowed for the same coded Pokémon to be distributed in ORAS as in XY for example).
  • 2 - Distribution methods are basically 90% serial code and password based these days, and the other distribution methods are all basically the same in terms of their execution, so that leaves us with 1 very long page and a few other lists that barely have a handful of events on them. Just combining all the SwSh events on 1 list still makes a slightly smaller list than the current page with all gen 8 serial code events, but above all the lists would be more relevant to readers who want to see just what was available in their game specifically.

Since it is a bit of a change to do this, I think it would be better to seek approval first, before unilaterally implementing such a reshuffle but nobody has commented on the talk page either so can you maybe see? I put pages on my user space just to simulate what the gen 8 lists would look like, though I think we should really be doing this for gen 9 as well, and move the LGPE list for name consistancy if it gets approved.

Thanks!-- 4iamking (talk) 12:23, 29 March 2023 (UTC)

Just coming back to this, wondering if you have any thoughts on this, or if I should bring it up with Tiddlywinks as the new head of Games, what would be the best course of action? Ngl it would be at least nice to hear some feedback on the proposal.-- 4iamking (talk) 16:59, 22 May 2023 (UTC)
Honestly, I would bring it up with Tiddlywinks, since it would be a big change from how we handle events currently and I have little knowledge about the deeper mechanics of event distributions. - Chosen (Talk) 17:15, 22 May 2023 (UTC)

Catch template for Legends: Arceus

Hi, Chosen. I just created a "prototype version" of "Catch/Entry" template to locations from Pokémon Legends: Arceus. Though I took a Catch/entry8 as base, it took a bit time to create it. I don't know it could work, especially when Pokemon locations are a bit complex, if you note a odds in weather, time-space distortions, odds for Alpha specimen, etc. So... if you could got a free time, could you look onto these templates and check they fulfill a requirements to be officially moved on main space? Of course, if they don't fulfill requirements, you may redirect them to yourself and modify them... or take a page from PokeWiki.de and use "Interactive Map Location" template to Legends Arceus and Scarlet/Violet locations. Choice is, of course, yours. I ask you, because I think you're a much better in that cases ^^" ---Modikisha (talk) 19:45, 8 April 2023 (UTC)

Clarification for moving learnsets/other game data to sub-pages post-dexit

Recently I ran into the issue of whether we should be moving information off the main page for a given Pokémon for new generations, even if that Pokémon doesn't appear in said new generation. As an example, Minior hasn't appeared in a mainline series game since Gen 7, it seems wrong to move vital game data for the last game it appeared in off the main page, in favor of "an empty list reserved for a generation it doesn't appear in, forcing the reader to click a link to visit a sub-page to find what they were looking for".

I wound up reverting Minior's learnset changes to put its Gen 7 learnset back on the main page here, and I'm wondering if there's any documentation or standard in place for this kind of thing? "Blank sections for games it doesn't appear in replacing actual data for the last game it does appear in" seems incredibly counterintuitive. If a Pokémon like Minior has no new game data in Gen 8 or 9, shouldn't we be displaying data for the most recent game it did appear in?

I guess my concern is that that templates like Template:Learnlist/MoveNA seems to serve no purpose than to shunt huge sections of "still relevant" data to a sub-page for seemingly no reason other than to make room for a glorified "This Pokémon isn't in the newest games" notice, which the "Game Locations" section of each Pokémon's page already handles fine, and there's really no "new data" we needed to make room for. Atrius97 (talk) 08:56, 22 May 2023 (UTC)

To be honest, the Admin team is conflicted on whether to keep Template:Learnlist/MoveNA or to display the latest available movesets for each Pokémon. I personally don't mind either way, so long as it is conistent, but I agree that the current half-measure isn't doing us any favors. - Chosen (Talk) 16:52, 22 May 2023 (UTC)
I'm glad I'm not alone here. There was a lot of debate about it in the Discord server and some old mockups were brought up as a way to keep the most recent learnsets, but still make it obvious the data shown isn't for the current generation games.
Of the two mockups, I'm partial to the "In each table" example, (since that's less visually jarring than the "Top of learnset" example), and it would include a notice in each of the different learnsets, (Levelup, TM, Breeding, etc), which I think is a feature rather than a drawback. Less jarring, but still provides an obvious notice to the reader. Atrius97 (talk) 02:10, 23 May 2023 (UTC)

New HOME menu sprites

Hi! I'm struggling to get an answer from the staff, so I'll try my luck here as well. The BDSP/SV style artwork for almost every single Pokémon (no G-Max forms, Spiky Pichu, Cosplay Pichu, LGPE mascots, etc.) have been available on the HOME website for some time icon0001_f00_s0.png. I have them all ready for upload. Has this been discussed yet? What the file names should be, etc. These are perfect for the MS redirects, since the Pokémon are resized to fit within 128x128px much better (no empty space), akin to the previous style. We can finally have them be consistent instead of having 3 different sizes and styles. Oneofthosedf (talk) (contribs) 15:26, 22 May 2023 (UTC)

The Admin team is actually planning on uploading these under "File:Menu HOME ####.png" soon. Thanks for the suggestion. - Chosen (Talk) 16:49, 22 May 2023 (UTC)
I can help, just make a template I can use. It would be in trusted hands, I already uploaded most of the menusprites from SV and changed hundreds of redirects decently fast. Oneofthosedf (talk) (contribs) 17:08, 22 May 2023 (UTC)
I updated Template:Menu sprite to be compatible with HOME. You can use that. - Chosen (Talk) 13:15, 23 May 2023 (UTC)
Great. Thank you. There is only one thing left related to this: the redirect files for Gen 6 menusprites are all protected, I can't update them. Either you unprotect them, so I can save you the trouble, or an admin will have to edit them one by one like last time. https://archives.bulbagarden.net/w/index.php?title=File:666MS.png&action=history The ones from other generations are unprotected, so the former makes more sense. Oneofthosedf (talk) (contribs) 13:55, 23 May 2023 (UTC)
I can get started on unprotecting them while you upload. Thank you for your time. - Chosen (Talk) 14:00, 23 May 2023 (UTC)
It seems like some files are not updated yet. I presume they simply haven't been uploaded yet? And it's a bit disappointing to see some files of various forms being removed when the previous HOME models acknowledged them, such as Silvally and Urshifu's forms. Did I understand correctly that this new style is being used due to it being newer? --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 18:18, 24 May 2023 (UTC)

(resetting indent)I'm using the HOME MS sprites for conistency with the (move) pages. There are no plans to use them anywhere else on my end. - Chosen (Talk) 19:28, 24 May 2023 (UTC)

The HOME menuspirtes are all up

Since this has mostly been done for the (move) pages, it's time we do something with the templates they use. They currently only display 3 digits, so everything from Gholdengo has the number "100" (already really bad with 11, but this would affect everything from the next generations). Now, I could create new redirects for all the menusprite redirects, so we can display 4 digits (editing in the zeros for the pages can be done very quickly), but it would be easier for an admin to do it, since you guys can move pages with the option to leave a redirect. So the content of "xxxMS.png" would be transfered to "xxxxMS.png" and "xxxMS.png" would remain a redirect so the (move) pages don't display a bunch of broken links instead of images. Takes a tiny bit of time, but it's monotonous and simple.

I presented a complete and comprehensive overhaul of these templates already a year ago, (the admins were to tell me their objections after SV coverage was over, but pretty sure it's been forgotten about), but this needs to be done before my resubmission. One step at a time. So I request to have all the entry templates that currently only display 3 digits to be edited and show up with the same (very pretty) font that the templates on the NatDex and Type pages use. Yes, you'll need to move 1200 redirects, but I don't think finishing the digit expansion and consistent fonts are that much to ask 6 months after the release of SV. Alternatively, you can give me the privileges to do this, but that's a big ask, so it's more than fine if it's off the table. Oneofthosedf (talk) (contribs) 22:59, 24 May 2023 (UTC)

I think this would be best done with bots. I brought it up with the moderation team. - Chosen (Talk) 03:50, 26 May 2023 (UTC)
Hey! Any updates on this? Oneofthosedf (talk) (contribs) 14:45, 7 August 2023 (UTC)
None so far. I will try pushing for it with the moderation team again. - Chosen (Talk) 17:45, 7 August 2023 (UTC)
OK. Now that we know that the Teal Mask - and with it, hundreds of Pokémon - releases in just over a month, it would be cool to reach a consensus before I start editing all the 800+ move pages again on September 13th. Two birds with one stone. Again, if the bot is not gonna work, you can temporarily give me the privileges to move the menusprite redirects (while leaving redirects for the 3-digit versions). I think I have done enough to prove I can get these monotonous things done effectively and quickly (adding the zeros to most of the Pokémon pages, updating most of the move pages multiple times, uploading all HOME menu sprites in a day, etc.). If I abuse those privileges, revert the damage and IP block me, relatively low risk on your part. I didn't think I'd need to push this hard for doing these tedious things seemingly nobody with the privileges required to perform them wants to do (for understandable reasons). 9 months is a long time to wait to implement all this. Whole thing would take a day or two manually. Thanks! Oneofthosedf (talk) (contribs) 16:35, 8 August 2023 (UTC)

Shopitem

Could you edit the Shopitem template so we could use it on Ramanas Park's page to feature the Slate purchases, which are done with Mysterious Shards? --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 11:19, 26 May 2023 (UTC)

Done. I included options for both Mysterious Shard S and Mysterious Shard L. - Chosen (Talk) 13:55, 26 May 2023 (UTC)
Thank you very much. --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 13:56, 26 May 2023 (UTC)
Put it to use, but there's a couple of errors: the amount of requires shards is repeated both at the start and end of the price section, and the Mysterious Shard S link is in plural, making it a red link. --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 14:45, 26 May 2023 (UTC)
I modified it so it displays item sprites like Dynite Ore shops. - Chosen (Talk) 19:35, 26 May 2023 (UTC)
Thanks. Looks a lot better now. --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 10:28, 27 May 2023 (UTC)

More requests

I decided to create a bunch of redirect pages for the "TM Material" article. While doing so, I accidentally misspelled Oricorio's name with one of the links and had to move it, creating an unnecessary redirect to a redirect. In addition, another user had earlier created a redirect for a nonexistent item called "Wooper Fur", which should also be deleted. --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 23:27, 1 June 2023 (UTC)

Done. - Chosen (Talk) 03:11, 2 June 2023 (UTC)

Ash's Pikachu image

Since the Ash's Pikachu image page is locked for most users to edit it, I wanted to know whether an image I managed to screenshot is a better one for Pikachu's page. It shows his whole body and not being too close like the current one. I decided to ask you since you were the one who made the last change on the image.

template/image adjustments

Heya, I tried yesterday to upload the SV series card rarity symbols which TPCi generously provided in this blog post but I had to quickly revert the uploads cause it was breaking things since Template:rar has nothing to limit the height of images, im just wondering if you are able to modify the template to add that so we can use the updated symbols, (x18px or so would be sufficient). Also for the illustration rare rarity symbol I couldn't upload that because on archives we are using a redirect to an older rarity symbol that I don't want to replace due to its use for older cards, so I'm wondering if you can either delete the redirect so I can upload the updated symbol or just upload the asset from the blog post. Finally I made 2 redirects here and here so I could update the pages and tooltips on BP to what TPCi actually calls the rarities, and this has now been done, so I think it would be good to move the files over to where the redirects are.-- 4iamking (talk) 13:18, 2 July 2023 (UTC)

I took care of your first and third requests. The second request, upon consulting with another administrator, stays as is, however. If we overwrite the old black star, we're also overwriting the old gold star. - Chosen (Talk) 23:01, 2 July 2023 (UTC)
Great thanks, and thats fine then I guess ill upload it to the old link and we overwrite both for consistency. -- 4iamking (talk) 23:27, 2 July 2023 (UTC)

An issue

Earlier I added a trivia point to the HZ018 page about who narrated HZ019's, since at the very least, HZ018's preview showed that it's not just Dot and Quaxly narrating, since Liko and Sprigatito spoke too and even in HZ019's preview, Sprigatito spoke in the sponsors section of the preview despite it never doing that before. It was removed like it was a month or so ago, because at the time it was only Dot and Quaxly doing it, so fair enough, it didn't need to be added. I explained this on HZ017's page last week and yet it was deleted, but I explained that what I said last week and added it back, only for it to Finishpokemon fan to delete it yet again and I'm quite sick of his attitude ever since XY was airing. I remember ever since then when he changed a link that I had no idea about and was quite insulting in his edit back then and ever since then he has been changing my edits even at times like this when it's unnecessary. No one has had a problem with narration trivia points before and I'd understand if it was always the same two characters, but last week proved otherwise. I'm sick of this thing between us, because it even resulted in me being banned from the archive section and although I don't really miss that anymore because I've got so much stuff todo these days, I don't like this hostility anymore. It's not healthy and I don't want to keep rebutting to his actions, but he seems to have a vendetta and I'm only doing what he and others are doing and that's editing to help the site, no more, no less. Thank you for listening. Playerking95 (talk) 11:23, 18 August 2023 (UTC)

To clarify, I was not aware PK95 had readded the info before I removed it. I merely removed it because it was just Nidothing and Quaxly doing it, and I figured that unlike in Journeys, where the preview narrators changed all the time, in Horizons, only exceptions to the norm (like the one PK95 mentioned) should be noted in trivia as something noteworthy. --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 12:08, 18 August 2023 (UTC)

Category

Hi if you have the time, can you make the category links for the rest of Rising Volt Tacklers please. I put them on their pages but I hid them and can only be seen when you edit the page.--BlueSparkles (talk) 16:05, 27 August 2023 (UTC)

I don't see the Category "Rising Volt Tacklers" anywhere, but I think it's a good idea to make a category for them and the Explorers. I will add them. - Chosen (Talk) 16:16, 27 August 2023 (UTC)
Okay and thank you. Also do you think you can add the category's for the Rising Volt Tacklers Pokémon, which I created and hid on the rest of the crew's pages that don't have one like Liko, Roy and Friede.--BlueSparkles (talk) 16:20, 27 August 2023 (UTC)
That shouldn't be a problem. - Chosen (Talk) 16:24, 27 August 2023 (UTC)
Thank you very much for your help.--BlueSparkles (talk) 16:28, 27 August 2023 (UTC)
Also I forgot to ask you do you think you can create a Dot's Pokémon category please. There is one on her page that I created and hid a few days ago for you to find on her page when you edit it.--BlueSparkles (talk) 16:36, 27 August 2023 (UTC)
I don't think that's necessary; Dot is not a main character and she only posesses one Pokémon at the moment. - Chosen (Talk) 02:55, 28 August 2023 (UTC)
Okay. Also, who knows Dot might get more Pokémon somewhere down the line.--BlueSparkles (talk) 3:03, 28 August 2023 (UTC)

Murdock's Rockruff and Alcremie

Hi if you have the time can you look at Murdock's Pokémon pages please. User:QuickJolteon made one for his Rockruff while User:BigDocFan made one Alcremie. The reason I'm asking is because both Murdock's Pokémon have made at least three appearances in an episode and they look ready to be in main content space. Hope they will get approve by the other admins.--BlueSparkles (talk) 14:19, 28 August 2023 (UTC)

I'm honestly okay with both given some cleanup. I'll bring it up with the other admins. - Chosen (Talk) 16:33, 28 August 2023 (UTC)
Okay and thank you.--BlueSparkles (talk) 17:23, 28 August 2023 (UTC)
Hi I hope I don't sound too impatient but can you look at Murdock's Alcremie page please because me and some of the others user have been putting information on the page and I believe it looks ready for content space.--BlueSparkles (talk) 19:35, 11 September 2023 (UTC)
I'm giving it one last check with the other staff. If I don't hear any objections within the day, I'll mainspace Alcremie. - Chosen (Talk) 20:28, 11 September 2023 (UTC)
Okay and thank you for your help.--BlueSparkles (talk) 21:57, 11 September 2023 (UTC)
I saw that the admins approve for Murdock's Alcremie and I'm glad they did. Also, do you think you can ask the admins about Murdock's Rockruff being on main spaces as well please.--BlueSparkles (talk) 14:00, 12 September 2023 (UTC)
I'll take a look at Rockruff, but I'm not so much in favor of mainspacing it because it has not had a focus episode like Alcremie has. - Chosen (Talk) 16:03, 12 September 2023 (UTC)
Okay I understand and thank you.--BlueSparkles (talk) 16:10, 12 September 2023 (UTC)

Mainspace notability

I started the page User:PikaTepig999/List of anime bonus segments to be similar to the Eyecatch page. Do you think it is ready for the mainspace now? Additionally, I also created User:PikaTepig999/Template:User Pokémon Smile and User:PikaTepig999/Template:User Pokémon Sleep. Can they be mainspaced as well? → PikaTepig999 20:00, 26 September 2023 (UTC)

I mainspaced the user tags, and will mainspace the list of anime bonus segments soon so long as there are no objections from other staff. - Chosen (Talk) 21:14, 26 September 2023 (UTC)
Thank you! I also saw that BigDocFan mainspaced the bonus segment page, so thank you to you both for your help. → PikaTepig999 20:26, 28 September 2023 (UTC)
Could you also take a look at User:PikaTepig999/Unown Notes ? It is supposed to be similar to the Unown Mode and Unown Report articles. → PikaTepig999 02:51, 2 October 2023 (UTC)
I think this is a good article; I think it would be useful to have the location of all the Unown in LA in one place. However, I would call it the Unown Research Notes like the header in the picture. - Chosen (Talk) 02:59, 2 October 2023 (UTC)
Good point, I was working off of memory when I named it. The page can directly be moved to the proper title when mainspacing. Additionally, the page should also contain the names in other languages; which I'm hoping users who play the game in other languages can add. I'm not sure what else the page would require; I'd welcome any ideas you have. → PikaTepig999 08:46, 2 October 2023 (UTC)
An article titled "Giratina (game)" was created recently. Is there enough evidence to count th Giratina from various games as the same character? --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 10:54, 2 October 2023 (UTC)
While the article has signifigant information, I don't think there's enough evidence to suggest that they are the same entity. The article says so itself. - Chosen (Talk) 16:49, 2 October 2023 (UTC)
Okay. In that case, should it stay in main space or not? --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 17:42, 2 October 2023 (UTC)
I moved it to the creator's User: space, and informed them on their Talk: page. - Chosen (Talk) 18:09, 2 October 2023 (UTC)
Much appreciated. Thank you. --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 18:12, 2 October 2023 (UTC)
Is there any update about the mainspaceness of the Unown Research Notes page? Or any ideas about what other information would be notable for the page. → PikaTepig999 03:17, 8 October 2023 (UTC)
I mainspaced it for you. I'll ask about it's Japanese name on the Discord. - Chosen (Talk) 15:33, 8 October 2023 (UTC)
Thanks for your help. When you get a chance, could you also delete the leftover redirect? Thanks! → PikaTepig999 23:08, 8 October 2023 (UTC)
Done - Chosen (Talk) 02:45, 9 October 2023 (UTC)

Leon's Charizard

Do you think we can make this a permanent page too? I mean I think it has all the information it needs now that Pokémon Journeys is over. Seabiscuit2020 (talk) 17:00, 21, October 2023

I support that. o/ =D --Hikaru Wazana (talk) 17:03, 21 October 2023 (UTC)

Illumina phenomenon

Hi! I made a proposal over at Template talk:Spindata/NewSnap. What do you think? Pizzaiolo (talk) 02:08, 31 October 2023 (UTC)

Blueberry Pokédex

The List of Pokémon by Blueberry Pokédex number page is up an running, but since the Pokelist template for the Pokédex listings is locked down, it will take a user with administrator level access to update it. Just wanted to let you know. -Tyler53841 (talk) 16:18, 16 December 2023 (UTC)

I wasn't aware of that. Updated, thank you. - Chosen (Talk) 16:20, 16 December 2023 (UTC)
You're welcome. -Tyler53841 (talk) 16:22, 16 December 2023 (UTC)

Whoa, I just found out you put in the wrong spot, it is up by Unova. Thought you should know. -Tyler53841 (talk) 16:24, 16 December 2023 (UTC)

Never, mind since it is part of Unova. -Tyler53841 (talk) 16:29, 16 December 2023 (UTC)

Why'd you undo my edit on Penny?

This one to be specific. She's actually the second character in the games to use an Eeveelution team; someone in Pokemon Battle Revolution beat her to it. Yet you undid my edit without saying why. ¿¡Unowninator?! (talk) 04:30, 7 January 2024 (UTC)

I didn't undo it, just made the trivia point more specific. The previous point simply said in the games, and while Kaitlyn of PBR beats her in the games in general, PBR is not a core series game. - Chosen (Talk) 17:56, 7 January 2024 (UTC)
