Welcome to Bulbapedia, Buizel1991!

By creating your account you are now able to edit pages, join discussions, and expand the community-driven Pokémon encyclopedia. Before you jump in, here are some ground rules:

  • Be nice to everyone. It's in the code of conduct.
  • Make good edits. Preview them before you save to make sure they're perfect the first time around.
  • Use wikicode and link templates when adding content to a page.
  • Use proper grammar and spelling, and read the manual of style.
  • You can't create a userpage until you've added to the encyclopedia. It's a privilege. See the userspace policy.
  • Use talk pages to resolve editing disputes. Don't "edit war," or constantly re-edit/undo the same thing on a page.
  • If you have a question about something, be proactive. Ask for help. The staff won't bite.
  • Sign all talk page posts with four tildes (~~~~). This will turn into your name and the time you wrote the comment.
  • For more handy links, see the welcome portal.
Thank you, and have a good time editing here!

Leaked names

Please stop creating talk pages telling us that "Serebii confirmed" the leaked names as "official". We know about the leaked names, but we would rather wait for an official source, such as Nintendo to confirm the names themselves before we add them. Please understand that this is the way this wiki works; just because a fan site 100% believes it, doesn't make it official. When you are able to provide a proper source (it has to be from Nintendo) you can request a change then. Thanks. Jellotalk 21:57, 16 February 2011 (UTC)

Signing

In future, it's preferred if you sign at the end of your comments, rather than at the start. Just like you would sign your name at the end of a letter, rather than the beginning. Thanks. Werdnae (talk) 01:10, 1 March 2011 (UTC)

Talk pages

Please don't create needless talk pages like you did with Blaine's Magmar. It is frowned upon and unproductive. Also, based on your contributions, you have been making a lot of edits to the talk space and hardly any mainspace edits. I suggest that you try to be more productive in the mainspace. --rockersk08 19:04, 30 May 2011 (UTC)

Every time i do main space edits they get deleted or i get complaints (like this one), when i comment, i do because i want to get my opinion across, and hell i only did that once! No other talk pages have i created! it was just that once because i thought that "air lens" ability was interesting! I am on Wiki and have a RIGHT to voice an opinion. - unsigned comment from Buizel1991 (talkcontribs)
There's a difference between trying to express your opinion and making unproductive edits. By reviewing your edits, you only made edits to trivia, which according to the site notice atop every page, is not allowed right now due to server stress, which is why they were reverted. --rockersk08 19:12, 30 May 2011 (UTC)
I realise that, but whats harm in stating something for trivia for when it can be added? and sorry forgot to sign my comment :L and i have only edited trivia for Onix, and that was MONTHS ago...and ooh look it got deleted for NO reason. For a wiki you all can be very hypocritical!Buizel1991 19:21, 30 May 2011 (UTC)
Not adding trivia isn't due to server stress, it's because there's just plain better things to do right now. We still aren't quite full up on BW information, and we just started implementing a new move template. -- MAGNEDETH 19:17, 30 May 2011 (UTC)
I noticed that new template...i like it ^^ but being told i haven't done any main stream editing when i have tried to is stupid, i added the trivia way before B/W was released and it got deleted, from then on i have only tried with Harriama and that failed, so i have just given up and let other people do it if they find my info interesting, because i know if i try, it will be removed. Also, i know i can;t edit yet, hence i post on the talk to see if it is notable for when we can add trivia. Buizel1991 19:21, 30 May 2011 (UTC)
Well, if you find that your info is being pulled then you should ask yourself, why? We don't go reverting people frivolously, so there is likely a reason. A suggestion I have to a lot of new users, whom want to really help out but have trouble fitting in, is to lurk a bit. Scope out the site and see how users and staff do things. It can help you get a feel for the site and editing. It also doesn't hurt to check out the help pages to answer questions for you. -- MAGNEDETH 19:28, 30 May 2011 (UTC)
Well i have lurked for nearly a year, then made the account so i could be part of the community, The 2 trivia i have tried is About Onix's Yellow Sprite having the same colour as the Shiny sprite from gen 2 onwards, and about Harriama being able to learn Brine via level up (i found it interesting it is the only pure fighting type to learn it via level up, there is trivia like that for loads of pokemon), which was given and explanation as to why it wasn't notable, but then i saw near enough what i was trying to say on a different pokemon page. I just find now that this site can be a bit hypocritical, hence i have stopped adding trivia. Buizel1991 19:33, 30 May 2011 (UTC)
The Onix trivia was removed because we are extremely strict on Sprite based trivia as it has caused far too many arguments. The Hariyama (you spelled it wrong) trivia was removed because there are plenty of Pokemon that learn odd moves, so it just wasn't really that notable. Same with Minccino. However, your edits were also rather poor because you not only didn't use the preview button, but you didn't use link templates. You may have lurked the site, but it seems you didn't read the rules. -- MAGNEDETH 19:44, 30 May 2011 (UTC)
However it's notable that he is the only fighting type to learn Whirlwind via level up? See what i mean about being hypocritical? And yeh, i understand the Onix one now. and i did use link templates, i linked Brine to the page...i clearly remember that because i scoured the site for ages trying to find how to do it. i can't be bothered debating, I have read the rules, it's just how to present my comments i struggle with if it's one thing i HATE it's braking any rule, i try my best and that's all i can do i sure as hell cannot be the only one. Buizel1991 19:51, 30 May 2011 (UTC)
Fair point on the hypocrisy. I have taken care of it. However, I think you're a little mixed up on link templates.
[[Brine]] and {{m|Brine}}
The former is merely a link to Brine, which is a redirect page. The latter is a link template. It links directly to "Brine (move)" which is where you want to go. -- MAGNEDETH 20:03, 30 May 2011 (UTC)
Thank you :) and ahh i see, thank you, i'll try and remember if i try to add any trivia in the future, thanks for the help :) Buizel1991 20:05, 30 May 2011 (UTC)
