Headbutt

Can I ask that when you add them (but it looks like you're done anyway) that you don't put "(Pre-National Pokédex)". This is misleading as they can be found post-National Pokédex as well. The post-National Pokédex note can stay though, as it needs to be there. See the few that I changed if you don't understand. Thanks for your contributions! --SnorlaxMonster 04:40, 20 November 2010 (UTC)

oh gosh, im done with the kanto part already. >_< ok, thanks for pointing that out, i'll keep that in mind when doing the johto part. --> AquaDragon (talk) 04:44, 20 November 2010 (UTC)

Don't worry, I'll handle them. You can go add the Johto ones. --SnorlaxMonster 04:46, 20 November 2010 (UTC)
Is it possible that you meant special tree rather than post-National Pokédex? --SnorlaxMonster 05:56, 24 November 2010 (UTC)

Pokémon Development

I don't think that is a good name for that template. I can see what they have in common, and I would say the best option is something like "Individuality" or "Pokémon individuality", since things like IVs are not developed. --SnorlaxMonster 13:39, 22 December 2010 (UTC)

oh, OK I can see why that's not a good name. Prior to that I was thinking of "characteristics"(misleading), "intrinsic properties" (too complicated) or "traits" (they sound like characteristics), but I think "Individuality" sounds good. ---> AquaDragon 13:47, 22 December 2010 (UTC)
i'm thinking we should put the brackets in [i.e. Effort values(EVs)], because i am sure there are people who know what EVs are, but not know what it stands for. ---> AquaDragon 13:52, 22 December 2010 (UTC)
Not really necessary for a navigation template: if they don't know what it stands for, they would search for it and be redirected. Plenty of locations have changed name between games, but we don't put both in the navigation templates. --SnorlaxMonster 13:59, 22 December 2010 (UTC)

w.r.t "22:07, 22 December 2010 (+8GMT) SnorlaxMonster (honestly, nobody is going to discuss this template getting moved, I had similar problems before)"

ah well, my guess is that if they appear well on the article pages, nobody will bother with what they are named after; but unless there is a naming convention with templates, i think it should be ok to leave it un-moved. ---> AquaDragon 14:14, 22 December 2010 (UTC)
Yeah, I often request pages for moving/merging, but rarely get much/any replies for quite some time. Templates would get even less attention. I would much rather have it at a meaningful name than a strange name which doesn't have much relevance. Oh, and you got you inequality sign backwards in your edit summary before, so it meant the opposite. --SnorlaxMonster 14:24, 22 December 2010 (UTC)

Good job

Congratulations! For your outstanding service to Bulbapedia's games section you have been awarded the Golden Mew Award for January, 2011 by the Bulbapedia editorial board!

Please place this template onto your userpage by putting {{User Award|GoldMew|January, 2011}} among your userboxes.

Thank you, AquaDragon, for the work you have put into Bulbapedia's Games department over the past few months. You're a star. —darklordtrom 09:33, 14 February 2011 (UTC)

  • wow, omg! that was totally unexpected! ...and on valentine's day too! :D :D thank you Trom and the editorial board, happy valentines! :) ♥ ---> AquaDragon 15:23, 14 February 2011 (UTC)

Was just wondering...

Why do you keep describing Ash's Pikachu as an it?--Mondoblasto 21:00, 2 August 2011 (UTC)

well, when i wrote the synopsis i presumed that i would not reveal the gender (writing as 'it') until it was revealed later in the episode (after which, i would use 'she' or 'he'). at the time of writing there wasn't a standard of describing the gender of a Pokémon (i think there still isn't a standard of writing the synopsis yet), so i guess opinion varies between different styles of writing. ---> AquaDragon 13:33, 3 August 2011 (UTC)
Ahh, ok. Pikachu's gender was officially confirmed in Where No Togepi Has Gone Before!. A few others were also confirmed, as noted there. If you're not sure of a certain Pokémon character's gender, you can just check their character page to see if it's been filled in or not. You can also use their look in the show as a hint, if that species has a clear and obvious gender difference. After a gender is confirmed the only place where it could be called an 'it' is any page before that confirmation. As a quick note, in the case of Pikachu, when I write about him and Ash close together in a sentence, I like to name one or the other to keep clear who I'm talking about if the distinction wouldn't be clear otherwise (or use the Electric Mouse Pokémon, the Trainer, etc).--Mondoblasto 17:14, 10 August 2011 (UTC)
