An evolutionary line's signature move is a move that Pokémon outside that evolutionary line cannot learn unless only by breeding, or the only move that the evolutionary line can naturally learn. A move that meets these conditions in any core series pair of games or solitary game is a signature move, regardless of whether the move was more widely available in any other games. Moves known by event Pokémon or that may be learned via Sketch never count towards or against the signature move status for any move.
