Allowed uses

Use of this template, or other methods of embedding video, in the mainspace requires staff approval. Pages not on this list may not use the template, and this list must not be modified without the approval of two staff members administrator rank or higher, and the change must be performed by one of the staff members making the decision. The EiC and Deputy EiC have veto power over approvals.

This strict implementation is due to the loading issues which embedded video can cause. An embedded video greatly increases the load size of the page, meaning that pages load slower. In times of high load, or on particularly large pages, this can prevent the page from loading at all. Previous use of embedded video was directly responsible for several instances of these load errors, which is why the use is now limited. If a description and link are sufficient to convey the basic information, then that is the method that should be used.

The content of a video is also important. The presence of a page on this list does not allow videos which would be otherwise objectionable, for example copyright violating videos, to be added. If you wish to have a mainspace page added to the list, please create a new section at the bottom of this talk page with the page name as section title. Include the videos which would be used on the page and a brief explanation of why a video is required. Werdnae (talk) 05:47, 20 July 2013 (UTC)

Would beta pages and other pages containing only one 1 or 2 videos on the page max be allowed for use? Ie, Pokémon Colosseum beta, several of the glitch pages, and other misc pages? Frozen Fennec 15:19, 11 August 2017 (UTC)

Simplification

I explained why the template needs to be simplified here and you can see why it's so troublesome by looking at the current state of the Pokémon commercial article.

All the template needs in the code is (using the same video): {{#Widget:YouTube|id={{{1|MvuqoVE6Ado}}}}}. The result is below.

Also, please make sure that you're using an up-to-date version of the relevant MediaWiki extension. SatoMew2 (talk) 16:09, 10 June 2015 (UTC)

Mystery Dungeon locations: Pokémon Square, Team Base, Great Canyon, and Sky Tower

I would like to see the official music uploads added to the pages on their respective locations in Red and Blue Rescue Team. It would be at most one video embed per page, and embedding the video allows the reader to listen to the music without leaving the page, which would improve the user experience. The tracks I want added are:
