Generation IV sprites

The Generation IV sprites have been doubled for some reason; However, it's beyond my current knowledge in regard to fixing this. --Marohen

You mean theres two Sprites of venusaurs and two shiny sprites of venusaur? Well to answer your question, See how one has a seed on its plant? well that's a female venusaur and the one W/O the seed is a male.... (It's called Gender Differences)..... --Force Fire 10:02, 5 June 2008 (UTC)

Is the shiny Crystal sprite supposed to have all those black dots? ~$aturn¥oshi THE VOICES 19:27, 5 June 2008 (UTC)

It's not. Somebody should fix that. BlueJirachi 19:30, 5 June 2008 (UTC)

Yeah, where would those dots even come from? I'm just wondering. --Hey1031 21:18, 19 August 2008 (UTC)

My guess is that someone just used a poor-quality ripping program, or something... the best solution is probably to re-rip and re-upload it. --Martonimos((Argh|Blargh)) 21:22, 19 August 2008 (UTC)

Question about trivia

I have a question about the trivia. It says that Venusaur has bloodshot eyes in recent 3D games. What does that mean?Pokemon champ 07:34, 16 May 2009 (UTC)

Its eyes goes red.--ForceFire 07:47, 16 May 2009 (UTC)
They only turn red when they're hit by an attack. Sweekun

Another Question about trivia

Is it significant that only Red, Blue, and LeafGreen refer to the flower on its back as "a plant" rather than "its flower", making it sound more like a parasite than part of itself? PG (bleh) 01:14, 26 June 2009 (UTC)

Not really. Plants and flowers are pretty much the same thing. It doesn't come across parasitic to me, which makes this an opinionated trivia.... i.e. a bad piece of trivia. — THE TROM — 03:34, 27 June 2009 (UTC)

Likely Connection?

I was on Archives when I noticed the Venusaur's FR/LG front sprites in many ways another version of its orginal artwork from Red & Blue. Who thinks that there could be a connection? Spritemaster 00:05 26 August 2009 (UTC)

Edit Request

New Pokedex entry, Gold and silver EP248 'Venusaur, the Seed Pokemon. Venusaur uses its large petals to capture sunlight and transform it into energy. (Ash's Pokedex) Please and thank you. - unsigned comment from Littlmiget123 (talkcontribs)

The 'In the anime' Picture

I'm sorry to say, but I think that the picture in the anime section isn't very good. Venusaur is standing on its hind legs, something which most Venusaurs do not do. I found a couple pictures on the archives that could fit. This image [1] seems to be the best picture, though, since it is .png. Littlmiget123 21:15, 6 March 2010 (UTC)

I'm asking so I can be nice to the person who uploaded the image. If I don't get a responce, I'm going to switch the photos with the one above. Littlmiget123 22:27, 6 March 2010 (UTC)

HeartGold/SoulSilver Sprites

We have the moving sprites for these images, is there a reason they are not being used? If there is no reason, can someone please put them in place of the static ones. CoolDudeAl

Trivia mascot

Hi I just wanted to ask that here first before I change the actual site, but someone could mention that as Venusaur's german name is Bisaflor and the german name of the LeafGreen game is Blattgrün, it is one of the pokemon who share their initial with the pokemon game of which they are the mascot. Just wanted to know if that is useful Wuruhi 01:44:30 July 6 2010

More Mascot Trivia

Corect me if I'm wrong but isn't Venasaur the only pokemon to mascot two version games (Green and LeafGreen)? EpicShadow 9:03, 18 July 2010 (UTC)

There's also Charizard, Lugia, and Ho-Oh so basically the mascots of any games which have remakes.--MisterE13 15:55, 18 July 2010 (UTC)

Red and Green

Why are we using the Venusaur picture from Red and Green? Why not FireRed and LeafGreen. (Holonboy 17:33, 1 September 2010 (UTC))

Sprite Trivia?

I noticed there's sprite trivia regarding the subtle changes in Venusaur's skin over the generations. I thought we were trying to avoid this? I didn't want to remove in case it was notable, but I'm pretty sure it's been removed before . . . Crystal Talian 08:52, 22 December 2011 (UTC)

Yeah, that doesn't need to be there. Removed. Jo the Marten ಠ_ಠ 08:56, 22 December 2011 (UTC)

Notability

"Venusaur is the first fully evolved Pokémon in National Pokédex order." Is that really notable? Mothim will rule all!-Wildgoose (and Dustox will too!) 03:16, 2 January 2012 (UTC)

Probably not. Spirit of your Computer 13:21, 28 April 2012 (UTC)

Venusaur is a toad!

Just because of it's ears and basic evolution doesn't mean it's not a toad. Wartortle and Blastoise have ears too! Poliwag, Poliwhirl, and Poliwrath are all tadpoles and Mudkip, Marshtomp, and Swampert resemble basic axolotls.Bennell 20:54, 20 March 2012 (UTC)

Venusaur is a plant, not a toad. Spirit of your Computer 13:20, 28 April 2012 (UTC)

Name

What is insulting about the name "Venusaur", that it cannot be traded on the GTS in English? I am legitly confused here--Darknesslover5000 (talk) 23:55, 16 May 2013 (UTC)

Type effectiveness and Mega Venusaur

I separated the type effectiveness table for Venusaur and Mega Venusaur, for consistency with other pages (such as Gengar and Sceptile). Does anyone know how to insert a note about the new effectiveness of Fire- and Ice-type moves if the opponent has Mold Breaker and the likes? Loudo (talk) 17:51, 8 July 2014 (UTC)

There's no "yes" switch for Thick Fat, only "maybe" (since everything else has Thick Fat as one of their Abilities, instead of being their only). The same for Mega Aggron's Filter. Eridanus (talk) 18:09, 8 July 2014 (UTC)
