Listed publication date is likely incorrect

The sidebar states that The Lost Riolu was published in 2010. However, both the preceding book (Pokémon Academy) and the following book (Coal Badge Battle) are listed as having been published in March 2008. Additionally, I have a double-sided book featuring both Pokémon Academy and The Lost Riolu with a 2009 copyright. So something isn't adding up here. However, I do not have a standalone copy of The Lost Riolu, so I cannot confirm the original's date of publication.

WorldCat lists the flip book as from 2009, but the standalone book as from 2010. On the other hand, they list Coal Badge Battle as March 2008 and the standalone Pokémon Academy book as 2010. It's very possible the 2010 editions are reissues of earlier releases that I didn't see there. --Abcboy (talk) 05:34, 15 November 2023 (UTC)

Looking for info on author Helena Mayer

I did a couple quick searches to find info about this book's author, Helena Mayer, but Wikipedia had nothing and a general search engine returned a mixture of stuff about fencer Helene Mayer (an interesting figure in her own right) and an obscure Christian musician from near Los Angeles who started releasing music in late 2018. Perhaps I should specifically look into Scholastic's resources.

Looked through Scholastic's storefront. The Lost Riolu does not appear to be on offer there anymore. However, I did find Mayer's name attached to another Pokémon book, one of a series of flip books released in mid-2021, called the "Pokémon Super Special Chapter Books," which appear to be totally undocumented on Bulbapedia. Her name is specifically on the 3rd book, which features one story from Sinnoh and one from Hoenn, and the stories are titled "The Power of Three" and "Ancient Pokémon Attack." Based on the cover visible on the storefront, which prominently features Turtwig, Chimchar, and Piplup, I assume "The Power of Three" is the Sinnoh story. I also cannot tell at a glance which of the two stories Mayer wrote, as both she and Maria S. Barbo are credited. I may end up buying the whole box set just so I can get to the bottom of this.

I have since bought the box set, and I now know that Mayer wrote "The Power of Three" and Barbo wrote "Ancient Pokémon Attack." It also turns out that the "three" in the title are, in fact, Azelf, Mesprit, and Uxie, as this is an adaptation of the last three episodes of Galactic Battles, Unlocking the Red Chain of Events!, The Needs of the Three! (presumably where the book's title was pulled from), and The Battle Finale of Legend!. But I just encountered a scan of a standalone version of "The Power of Three" from 2010 on archive.org. An ISBN search yields a specific date of publication, 2010-09-01. Interesting.
