Purpose

I don't see the point of the list... it's just simply the first three generations of Pokémon in alphabetical order, is it not? ht14 02:54, 10 September 2012 (UTC)

I don't see the point of the list of all Pokémon in alphabetical order, as it is just all the Pokémon in alphabetical order. That list isn't even sortable as every letter is split into a section. If Ndex was one big list, then we wouldn't even need that list because you could sort Ndex in alphabetical order. Any split lists aren't very useful for any other purpose because they don't sort. And it's gonna keep getting harder and harder to use that list for this purpose because more Pokémon come every generation. But since you have more authority than me, you can remove it. Also, important point, how is it sorted in foreign language releases? Arrghh… I just created a reason to ax that list… though we do need research on that... The comment I will add is why is the option of 0-9 on the list, what is wrong with the hide button, and can you see all of the then 386 Pokémon in the Strategy Memo? The first two are more general stuff, but if the answer to the third is no, then this should not be a list of all of the Pokémon in alphabetical order from Gen. III. I would like to point out where /else/ do we have a list of simply Gens I-III for this to draw an alternative listing from? The NDex is all gens, so it simply can't show Gens I-III in alphabetical order; the Hoenn Dex 100+ too small; the index numbers are all over the place. If this is technically like a dex or a browser, it should remain simply on that principle (and then be linked to the dex/browser template). If it bothers you that it's not sortable, make it sortable and ditch the toc. Luna Tiger * the Arc Toraph 11:55, 10 September 2012 (UTC)
Note that the TOC is just Template:CompactTOC. I could edit it, but it is used on a few other pages. You could see all 386, just like you can see all 649, by trading and events. I will make it use Rdex, and I will do that soon. Do note that quite a few of our listings still use Template:Bluetable which I hope will no longer be used. Ndex and Jdex and Odex are all just reordered and cut down versions of other lists, like this one is. Abcboy (talk) 12:36, 10 September 2012 (UTC)

Numbering

Is this list actually numbered in the games, or is that just being applied here to show they have that specific order? Based on the image in the article, they don't appear to be. If they aren't numbered in-game, then there is really no need for this list. It's just the 386 Pokémon in Generation III, listed in alphabetical order, which could be noted in the article in a single sentence. --SnorlaxMonster 10:18, 29 July 2014 (UTC)

It may not have a numbering system, but the Pokémon should still be listed regardless.Blob55 (talk) 16:17, 16 March 2016 (UTC)
I removing after realizing that there is no such thing as Strategy Memo order because the order is differemt in each localization. --Abcboy (talk) 16:32, 16 March 2016 (UTC)
