I still don't know what the hell Sneasler is supposed to be based on

Pretty much all the other mons in Legends Arceus have explanations that are really clear, or at least ones that I can look up and research. "Oh, this is a Japanese thing, this is an Ainu thing, H.Lilligant is a ballerina, H.Avalugg is a glacier, Overqwil is a weird pufferfish/lionfish/urchin thing." Sneasler though? I honestly can't tell what it's supposed to be other than "tall twink Sneasel". Does anyone else know? Anzasquiddles (talk) 11:04, 2 February 2022 (UTC)

Addendum: I've noticed that Sneasler's name in most other languages literally translate to just "Big Sneasel" or some variation of it (in French it's "King Sneasel", in German it's "Boss Sneasel"). maybe it really is just Sneasel but taller? Anzasquiddles (talk) 11:14, 2 February 2022 (UTC)
Nvm, I think it's also based on the Onyudo. I dismissed the Onyudo inspiration a few days ago because I thought there was no connection, but today I learned that there are stories of weasels shapeshifting into Onyudo. My bad, sorry. Anzasquiddles (talk) 11:26, 2 February 2022 (UTC)

Is it really "Sneasel + wrestler"?

like, it makes sense given its humanoid look and Fighting type, but there's nothing else that indicates that Sneasler has wrestling inspirations (unlike say, Incineroar or Hawlucha). i saw someone suggesting that it may instead be based on Sneasel + suffix "-er" (as in "more", like big becoming bigger, so Sneasel becomes Sneasler = more Sneasel), which in my opinion works too.

what do you think? Anzasquiddles (talk) 05:43, 17 February 2022 (UTC)

Sneasler's French article suggests that the -ler is from ruler, which is probably how similar it is to how its German name, Snieboss, ends with -boss, or its French name, Farfurex, ending with -rex. Its German article says -er could come from bigger. --C.Ezra.Mrozmowa · sprawozdanie 06:52, 17 February 2022 (UTC)
