- Yeah, Skill Swap resets the ability so the Pokémon that recieves Slow Start will have its stats lowered for five turns. TESHIGIGAS 15:49, 7 December 2008 (UTC)

Yes. I have done this in Doubles teaming up Regigigas with Whimsicott, and Whimsicott has Prankster, so it got rid of Regi's ability, and I am pretty sure it went back up to full power after losing Slow Start Sailor Mercury Fanboy (talk) 01:34, 11 January 2015 (UTC)

Slow Start failing to restore stats when removed in Japanese DP
According to this article, in the Japanese versions of Pokémon Diamond and Pearl, when Slow Start is removed it doesn't remove the effects of Slow Start. However, as Chickasaurus states in this post on Glitch City Labs, this doesn't seem to be the case, as you can see in this video and this video. Flavor text
I, surprisingly often, find myself needing to use the exact wordage of the flavor text of Slow Start. The, "Regigigas can't get going!" bit. The message varies slightly each generation.
