Just wanted to point out that since the game is set in a place based on Japan, the mythology would tend to be of Far Eastern inspiration. Obviously much of Eastern religion (especially Buddhism) can be said to share the common heritage of Indian mythology (as in the most obvious case of Fujin). Interesting. Earl Grey

Citations

Excuse me, but could the guy who wrote this please cite his/her sources so we know that this is the real deal and not just fanfiction? Manga-in-a-bottle 08:28, 21 April 2007 (UTC)

Hey Manga-in-a-bottle; all the myths in this article and all the content that goes with it is directly quoted from the game data. All of this information is in the books on the third floor of the Canalave Library. Soon to be Mrs. Shirley

Zhen-lin posted it from the game data, right on the messageboard. >_> --Zeta 08:35, 21 April 2007 (UTC)

Unown

Where would the text from the Unown cave in Solaceon go? Or would that not be in this article?

I'd say that goes in the article for the Solaceon Ruins, but I think it could fit great here, too. What does everyone else think?? Soon to be Mrs. Shirley

Cosmic Egg Theory

In The Original Story, the fact that the creator came out of an egg and existence started to exist, wouldn't that theory fall under the cosmic egg theory? --悪臭の人 22:26, 23 October 2007 (UTC)

Merge??

Can we merge this with Myths_and_legends_involving_legendary_Pokémon since the Legendary Pokémon page isn't as long now? Or was there another reason they were separate? --Greengiant 19:18, 17 May 2008 (UTC)

Um

Does anyine have any info on the myths involved in Platinum? §hin¥£iΨ@chµ 20:02, 13 October 2008 (UTC)

I see the myth Cynthia states in the Distortion World is on the page, which is good. I, however, have Cynthia's chat she shares with the player after he/she beats the Elite Four and visits the Celestic Town Cave Painting once more. (I've been able to get her to repeat the chat several times, so it's a repeatable event.) Basically, she provides her interpretation of what Giratina's power is, and she says that there must be a Pokémon stronger than Dialga, Palkia, and Giratina (meaning Arceus). She says that the cave painting can be seen as the Lake Trio surrounding one of the dragon trio, or it can be seen as the dragon trio surrounding Arceus (though she never mentions Arceus by name). So, if it would please this site, I could give you the whole conversation to add to the page (since I honestly have no clue how to myself, and don't want to try, only to mess up the page.) xD Xous 18:56, 15 May 2009 (UTC)
Nevermind - added to the page. If anyone finds this doesn't fit here, feel free to move it to wherever it best fits. Xous 19:22, 15 May 2009 (UTC)

Arceus' Myth

Is the text on this page a translation of the Japanese, or is it taken directly from the English game? Frugali 02:29, 23 August 2009 (UTC)

Veilstone's Myth

In the notes section of Veilston'es Myth, it says that the Pokemon in question may be Giratina or Spiritomb. However, I think that it may be Shaymin, because it says that "the Pokémon disappeared to a place beyond seeing". Pawsrent 00:04, 22 July 2010 (UTC)

I think it may be Cobalion, or one of the other musketeer legends, and the 'place beyond seeing would be unova, a place that literally couldn't be seen by people from sinnoh in medieval times. (assuming it is medieval times, hence the sword.) Wind 18:26, 18 April 2011 (UTC)

Yeah, that makes sense, including the fact that the musketeers are hiding from people. But I don't think that the people who developed DP already knew about Cobalions existence. So... I don't think it's a Gen V Pokémon. TyraniThrone 18:33, 18 April 2011 (UTC)

Plate myths

On one of the plates, I noticed it said, "The power of defeated giants infuses this Plate." I don't know if it has significance, or how relevant this page is, but who would Arceus have defeated in creating the plates? I don't think it fought the creation trio in the game's canon.DevaGolgotha (talk) 19:09, 3 January 2014 (UTC)

Japanese

Should it be mentioned how in Japanese it says that people married pokémon Mygs (talk) 04:35, 6 January 2018 (UTC)
