Cordyceps

I found this video on Youtube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CCOQ0VU24xw ) on the Cordyceps Fungus, which is a parasyte that infects insects. Anyway, the Cordyceps that infects bullet ants makes them look like Paras/Parasect. I supposed this was important, so I am mentioning it in this discussion page, but before I make the change in the article, I was hoping someone green lights this idea.

I don't really care for the idea, but I'll wait for an admin to weigh in. -ニョロトノ666

Crustacean?

I thought Paras was some kind of terrestrial crustacean. Is that a possibility? Random Chaos 18:04, 5 June 2010 (UTC)

Trivia

If I'm correct, Paras is the first Pokémon in National Pokédex order to have two double weaknesses (Fire and Flying). Should this be added to the trivia? --Locrian 06:25, 12 September 2010 (UTC)

No. That is getting too specific. If you're not really sure whether trivia is notable or not, then it probably isn't. --SnorlaxMonster 06:27, 12 September 2010 (UTC)

Gen III backsprites

Something seems odd about the sprites shown for Gen III. I have a non-shiny Paras in FireRed, and it's backsprite is equivalent to what is shown for a shiny Paras. I also notice the FR/LG shiny Paras has gold mushrooms, which none of these backsprites have. Are there seperate backsprites for the remake games that are missing from the article? --GARY-DOS (talk) 01:18, 10 January 2014 (UTC)

Weakness

Shouldn't it be mentioned that paras and its evolution are the first and only pokemon to have a 5x weakness? LukeDaDiggityDog (talk) 14:04, 31 May 2017 (UTC)

I don't think so. They only sometimes do, and plenty of other Pokemon can also have 5x (or greater) weaknesses from a combination of type-changing shenanigans, Ability-swapping shenanigans, and Trick-or-Treat/Forest's Curse. Pumpkinking0192 (talk) 15:24, 31 May 2017 (UTC)
Like what? User:LukeDaDiggityDog (talk) 15:25, 31 May 2017 (UTC)
Well, just for starters, the following Pokemon can have an 8x weakness to Fire when affected by Forest's Curse: Alolan Sandshrew/Sandslash, Forretress, Scizor, Trash Wormadam, Escavalier, Durant, and Genesect. Pumpkinking0192 (talk) 15:34, 31 May 2017 (UTC)

Name origin

I know its name is a shortening of parasite, but I think it might also incorporate parasol mushroom.--Buzzfan120 (talk) 02:50, 9 June 2019 (UTC)
