I remember it saying on the movie's official website that it took place in Castleia City and the picture of New Tork City matches the coast of Castleia. The went I checked the page again but I couldn't find the info about it being Castleia or New Tork City. Now it just says "the big city". - How is an edit summary "firm proof"? The person who put that information there hasn't provided a source to back it up. I’m still firmly under the belief it's the Decolore Islands because it's common sense: the movie was released in the middle of the Decolore arc, Ash and friends are halfway through the islands at this point and, ergo, halfway between Unova and Kanto, so why would they turn around after getting this far and sail all the way back to Unova just to visit one city?
