A Link to the Past?

In Pokémon Colosseum, a man in the Under talks about a man who made a fortune off of the mining operations in the Under, but doesn't know what happened to that man. Here is the direct quote. You can find this man in the shop in the Under.

"There was once a man who made a fortune in the mines of THE UNDER. Where he ended up, I don't know. I only hope he used his vast wealth for doing good...

Could this man be Verich? If so, does that mean Pokémon Colosseum was developed with the idea of XD's story line, or with the idea that XD would eventually be released?--PikamasterADV 21:46, 2 November 2007 (UTC)

I know the quote, and I've always wondered the same thing. I wouldn't be surprised if Verich was already planned during Colosseum. There's obviously a vast amount of time and effort put into developing the world as seen during the period of Shadow and Orre's prominence in the history of Pokémon. Genius Sonority made one of the most vibrant settings Pokémon has ever taken on - with quite a different feel. Colosseum and XD are a different sort of RPG from the core games - they're not nearly as replayable since the games have only a small set series of Pokémon the character can capture (the shadow Pokémon, starters, and gifts) - all within plot points, rather than the wild Pokémon of the main games. XD opened up wild Pokémon somewhat, but it still remains mainly a game focus on these main points - ones that Game Freak does not seem to focus on: Plot, Character Development, and World Experience. It's a true RPG in the sense of deeper characters and the emphasis on story; this removes one of Pokémon's most fundamental aspects - the adaptability of the games, and thus the replay value; however, it also brings something new to the franchise. It allows them to be able to put in these little things like referencing a character who has not yet appeared in any canon, to point the way for a sequel. Recently, the main games have been able to do this sort of thing, but mostly, it's cross-referencing with remakes to allow them to build up a sense of the world Game Freak envisions. Genius Sonority's ability to step away from the focus of the main games, jump into the far future perhaps, or else across national boundaries, but that freedom from both Pokémon's core system and plot devices allow them to do something like this. I would very much be inclined to believe that this quote from the Under IS a reference to Mr Verich. I think it's trivia worthy, and forgive me for responding so late to this topic. That was... beautiful... lol but you're right and it is worth noting, even if it is semi-speculation. Gligar 01:53, 13 October 2008 (UTC)

Question

Should we do this like we did to Mask of Ice, Sam, and Guile Hideout? ht14 02:16, 15 June 2009 (UTC)

Do what?

soft redirect

Doesn't the presence of a soft redirect kinda make the soft redirect the spoiler itself? I can't really think of any other alternative but it seems like there should be something else instead. Turtwig A (talk | contribs) 21:50, 15 August 2013 (UTC)
