Move Reset Goes With Moves

I think Move Reset should be treated as a move instead of as an ability. Pokemon only have 1 ability, which is doubly true in Unite where a single ability often has multiple effects. Abilities are never manually triggered by a button, which Move Reset is. Move Reset is only unlocked at a certain level, which no other ability follows. (As far as I know, it's less that Schooling is unlocked and more that it is inert until level 20.) It's not really a move either (the menus describe Move Reset as an "icon"), but it fits better under that banner as an action that Mew unlocks at a specific level, actively chooses to use, and has a cooldown between uses. It is listed under the "Moves" tab, so I agree it should probably not be listed as an Ability.
We don't have a Hoopa page yet, but isn't its ability button-triggered? (I was just wondering as to whether how we handle Hoopa should influence how we handle Mew.) Nescientist (talk) 21:22, 28 November 2023 (UTC)
A different menu puts Move Reset's text under Synchronize's box, but I think that's because that menu is designed around having 5 icons (Basic Attack, Ability, Move 1, Move 2, Unite Move) and Move Reset has to go somewhere.
Hoopa's Magician, unfortunately, is triggered by a button. Meaning it breaks the rules I tried to extrapolate from the game. A point in favor of putting Move Reset as an Ability, even though I personally disagree. Salmancer (talk) 02:37, 29 November 2023 (UTC)
Zoroark's Illusion is also activated via an input. Zacian uses the goal scoring button to activate Intrepid Sword Which further gives credence to leaving Move Reset where it is, but also makes me question why Abilities on UNITE pages are listed under a "Passive Ability" header when I count 4 abilities that are not "passive". At this point, I'm convinced it's okay to leave Move Reset where it is. Salmancer (talk) 02:44, 30 November 2023 (UTC)
Return to "Mew (UNITE)" page.
