Where does the picture with all the locations come from?

Possible real-world location?

Currently, it is generally accepted that Fiore is possibly based off of Naples and the surrounding area. However, I believe this claim may in fact be false. From what I can tell, the only basis for "Fiore=Naples" is the fact that "fiore" is Italian for "flower." However, this should not necessarily be the deciding factor for determining a region's real-world counterpart, provided one exists. After all, Kalos is based off of France, despite its name deriving from the Greek word for "beauty." After doing some research, I discovered an area that bears similarities to Fiore's geography: Japan's Okayama prefecture (and possibly the western half of the Hyogo prefecture as well).

Okayama and Hyogo

Comparing with Fiore, Okayama/Hyogo have 3 distinct features that seem to parallel:

1. To the north, there is Mount Hyono and Hiruzen, much like the mountain range seen in Fiore's artwork.

2. To the east, there is Himeji, a large port city. Isn't Fall City a port, as well?

3. To the south, there is Shodo Island, the first place in Japan to successfully cultivate olives. Because of this, it is sometimes called "Olive Island." Compare with Summerland, and how it is surrounded by the Olive Jungle.

Admittedly, the only thing notable about the western side of Okayama is Kurashiki, which is known for being near several beautiful parks. The only area in Fiore one could compare these parks with is the Kisara Plains, but even then, it's a logical stretch.

Personally, I believe this area matches Fiore better than Naples, and given how the other two regions within the Ranger games are likely based off of areas in Japan (Almia=southwestern Hokkaido, Oblivia=Oki Islands), it stands to reason that Fiore would also be based off of Japan. However, I'm not a mod, so I'll leave it to them to decide on this matter. --Knowitall (talk) 22:17, 16 January 2019 (UTC)

Greetings, Knowitall! Thank you very much indeed for the research, glad you deigned this often overlooked title of some deserved attention! Thy edit does, provide quite a nice read and some rather striking points! Taking a look at the maps, Fiore does, indeed look closer to Okayama
