Variation of Psybeam?

Why are BubbleBeam and Aurora Beam considered variations of Psybeam (and Spark and Sludge)? Aurora and Bubble lower stats, they don't cause statuses. Water Pulse is closer even though it only has 60 Power (same PP, causes a status). Lowering a stat is completely different from inflicting a status. Derian 15:51, 21 July 2009 (UTC)

Apparently, they all have 20 PP, 65 power, 100% accuracy and may have a "special effect". Samjohn95 10:43, 27 October 2009 (UTC)

Needing more?

Does this article really need more information? I don't want to take it away from the category if it does. Please tell me/do it. Samjohn95 10:43, 27 October 2009 (UTC)

Anime

Should it be noted that bubblebeam has changed its appearance throughout the anime...? Chomi 17:46, 12 August 2010 (UTC)

Uh... it says BubbleBeam can only be learned by the Poliwag evolutionary line in generations V & IV, however Misty's Poliwhirl has been shown to use BubbleBeam numerous times... should that be noted as, "Could not legally be learned at the time", or can I or someone else prove myself wrong? Misty's Politoed has never used BubbleBeam. Also, BubbleBeam has been Poliwag's egg move since Generation II and was TM move in Generation I.--Den Zen 16:43, 23 February 2012 (UTC)
