Gen III rates

In the Pokemon Ruby disassembly, wild_mons.s's "RockSmashMonsInfo" looks like encounter/no encounter rates, but changing that to "100" actually falls a little short of 100% encounters (go around smashing rocks wherever you changed it, and there'll still be a few times where nothing happens after Rock Smash)...

Maybe if more of the game gets sorted out in the disassembly eventually, someone can find out how that actually gets used for Rock Smashing. But until then, an approximation based on extended observation may be the only real option. (It does look like the Safari Zone is different from other places, though, so both should be checked independently.)

Not sure if I should edit this in, but I think the value should be out of 180, not out of 100. As UPC explains, that value you found is multiplied by 16 and then compared against a random number less than 2880 (not 2873, apparently).
The routine uses that value, and then it does the usual modifications of bike, flute, and Cleanse Tag (but not Abilities).
Anyway, can this article be mainspaced, please? Nescientist (talk) 17:18, 27 March 2018 (UTC)

RSE missing locations

Rocks appear in Rusturf Tunnel, Route 114, and Seafloor Cavern in RSE. Geodudes can be on Route 114, but not Rusturf Tunnel or Seafloor Cavern for some reason. I just thought I'd point this out. sumwun (talk) 22:28, 20 April 2018 (UTC)

Page move

Well, I think this page should be mainspaced by Force Fire (or any other admin). Thank you in advance. --TheICTLiker4 18:09, 15 May 2019 (UTC)

(S/M,US/UM) Item Drop rate

I did a basic search outside of Bulbapedia, but I haven't been able to find any numbers on the item drop rates from breakable rocks in Sun/Moon or Ultra Sun/Moon. I'll Begin gathering data, but my luck is consistently weird so I'd appreciate it if other contributors could do the same. Please don't share test sets (per rock) that are less than 30.

if rocks broken(B), items dropped(D): if B≥30, please report as "B=x, D=y"

If you'd like to go above and beyond, please also include the following variables:

• Which game: sun, moon, us, um

• Specific dropped items: Stardust(s), Star Piece(p), Comet Shard(c), Other???

• Location: the route number and/or island

• Land or water: Tauros Charge or Sharpedo Jet

• Outside or Inside? (ie. caves)

• Rock Size: Small, Medium, Large

• Any potentially relevant pokemon abilities or held items

It's a lot of info to organize, so here's an example format with fake data:

Pokemon Sun

B=100

D=(s15)(p10)(c5)

Vast Poni Canyon, Caves, Sharpedo Jet

All rock sizes

Party lead has the Super Luck ability*

*(this is only an example, I'm unaware of any evidence suggesting this ability has non-battle effects prior to gen VIII)

B=248, D=(s11)(p5)(c3), aka D=7.66%, s=4.44%, p=2.02%, c=1.21%; Vast Poni Canyon, Caves, Sharpedo Jet; All rock sizes; Lillie_Heals_Me 16:54, 22 March 2021 (UTC)
