You didn't make it up. The shipping for Ash and Kotone was named even before Kotone's name was revealed. It's called PokéSilverShipping. In fact, SoulShipping is already being used for Sabrina and Morty. So you shouldn't have a worry about someone stealing the credit, because you have no credit to claim.
