Pikachu was one of Ash's three Pokémon in Puzzle League. Red's Pikachu in Yellow and the Generation II games also seems to be based off of him. The Pikachu in the Super Smash Bros. series may be based on Ash's Pikachu.

Red's Pikachu is noticeably much based on Ash's Pikachu. Not only being the only starter Pokémon in Pokémon Yellow, which is inspired noticably by the anime, however also being the strongest Pokémon in Red's team when he is meet in the Generation II and IV games, being at level 81 and 88 respectively. This makes it the most high-level Pokémon in the series, most likely to mimick Ash's Pikachu in certain episodes. Also, in the Generation II games, Ash's Pikachu, at the time, used three of the four moves, and all four of them in the Generation IV games.

* In DP142 it was confirmed that Pikachu is male. When Togepi used Attract on Pikachu, MTR,  Dawn, Brock and Jessie, all but Yanmega were affected (coincidentally, this also revealed Yanmega as being female). It was already known that three of the Pokémon were male.
