:Once upon a time, a long long time ago, all of the editors on Bulbapedia focused on editing their userpages instead of editing the encyclopedic content. Not only was that fairly stupid - I mean, this is an encyclopedia after all - it put a lot of stress on the server. This meant that people who didn't abuse the userspace had trouble editing, even reading, the articles. So now there is a policy in place that says you can't do it too much. As you have said that's all you want to do, we've stopped you from hurting our servers.
