In this episode, [[Ash]] and his friends are traveling in [[Kanto]] when they come upon [[Gringy City]], which is currently undergoing a power crisis. The local power plant is being overrun by the mysterious {{t|Poison}}-type [[Pokemon]] [[Grimer]], and their numbers are blocking off the flow of water to the generators, thus causing the crisis. In order to stop the power outage, Ash, [[Misty]], and [[Brock]] travel to the abandoned power plant with a newly befriended {{p|Magnemite}}. When they get there, the Magnemite’s team of {{p|Magneton}} defeat the Grimers.
