It's preferred to use the PNG minisprites as opposed to the GIF ones. We once had a problem where static minisprites 400 and lower was GIF and 401 and above was PNG, but that problem has since been rectified so that now all minisprites, both still and animated, are available in PNG. I've went ahead and tweaked [[Template:Almiapkmn]] to reflect Bulbapedia's general PNG preference.
