-:Another example of how the movies are canon is that Ash was able to recognize a Mantine. If Ash did see a Mantine in the 2nd movie like I think he did then Ash recognizing a Mantine in "Mantine Overboard" would make it canon since it was the anime's debut of Mantine in that episode.
