The completion process involved Blaine using cells from his own arm, inadvertently also placing some of Mewtwo's cells into it. {{adv|Red}} and Blaine battled Mewtwo together, with Red eventually capturing it with Blaine's [[Master Ball]] in ''[[PS035|And Mewtwo... Three!]]'' and leaving it under the [[Gym Leader]]'s care.
