Wattson's Manectric: Difference between revisions

Manectric first appeared as an Electrike in ''[[AG040|Watt's with Wattson?]]''. At the time, Wattson was in complete shock after [[Ash's Pikachu]] defeated his three Pokémon in quick succession, and he had left for [[New Mauville]] to clear his head. On the island, Electrike approached him, which cheered him up. With Electrike around, Wattson forgot about the loss completely and fed the {{type|Electric}} some [[Pokémon food]].

As the pair played, {{TRT}} arrived in their [[Team Rocket's mechas|vacuum car]] to steal the power plant's [[wild Pokémon]]. Wattson confronted the trio, though Electrike and Ash's Pikachu were also captured. When Team Rocket became distracted by the robot Raikou Wattson uses at his Gym, it gave Electrike the chance to break out of the cage with Pikachu's assistance. Electrike managed to do so with its Bite attack and reunited with Wattson. It used Thunder Wave to temporarily stun [[Jessie's Dustox]], while Pikachu sent Team Rocket blasting off. Afterwards, Electrike decided that it wanted to stay with Wattson, who added it to his team. Wattson then said his goodbyes to Ash and {{ashfr}}, promising to battle him again in the future.

Electrike returned in ''[[AG059|Manectric Charge]]''. When Ash and the others revisited [[Mauville City]], Team Rocket tried to steal all of their Pokémon. However, Wattson and {{an|Watt}} arrived to stop Team Rocket in their tracks once again. Electrike tried to use Thunder Wave on their balloon but the attack had very little effect. When Watt's {{p|Ampharos}} freed the Pokémon with {{m|Iron Tail}}, Electrike finished the trio off with Thunder Wave along with Pikachu's {{m|Thunder}} and Ampharos's {{m|Thunder Shock}}. After the battle, Electrike evolved into Manectric.

Ash and his newly caught {{AP|Torkoal}} took on Wattson and Manectric in a practice match. Torkoal started things off with {{m|Overheat}} which fazed Manectric a bit. When Torkoal used the move again, Manectric took very little damage this time due to Overheat's effect of getting weaker. Torkoal switched to {{m|Flamethrower}} which made contact with Manectric, but it shook off the attack. Manectric then started to use a combination of Charge and Thunder Wave while Torkoal countered with Overheat. Due to Overheat's weakening power, Thunder Wave got through and struck Torkoal, leaving Manectric victorious.
