In the third round, Edgar managed to put a {{TCG|Groudon}} as his active Pokémon, while his rival only put {{tcg|Oddish}} on the field. Initially showing insecurity again, Ava skipped two shifts and after she changed her posture, Edgar then became irritated with Ava after she calmed down. When questioning Ava about her motivations, Ava presented her move and finally managed to reverse Troy's strategy. Leaving Edgar unsure how to handle it, Ava reassured him and told him to have fun with the match.
