→‎Generation IX: i mean, ancient Paradox mons still do not count as "Fossil Pokémon", since they weren't restored from fossils. they are just, well, prehistoric Pokémon, of which we have quite a few that have survived to the present day (eg. Relicanth) and do not count as Fossil mons.

Even if there are no unique species based entirely off of extinct creatures such as in previous generations, the fossil theme still arguably exists in Paldea.
