Per the {{bp|speculation policy}}, we do not use gender differences of Pokemon introduced or debuted before Gen IV until they are either explicitly confirmed, whether via Attract/Cute Charm or verbally, or the opposite gender variant has appeared (I.e. a female Gyarados has yet to appear, so we can't use Gyarados's gender difference - and even if it were, Lance's Gyarados has to appear again after the gender difference has been acknowledged by the anime).
