Upon arriving Steelix was returned, though later came out to battle the {{OBP|Pokémon hunter|JN146}} trying to capture both {{p|Latias}} and {{p|Latios}}. It again bore the trio after the hunter escaped, where it tried to stop him with a {{m|Smack Down}}. However, Steelix was turned to stone by the hunter's device, rending it incapable of helping. It was freed from its petrification after Ash and Latios destroyed it.
