Commander (Ability): Difference between revisions

When a Tatsugiri with Commander is on the same side of the field as a Dondozo, it will enter the Dondozo's mouth and the Dondozo will have its {{stat|Attack}}, {{stat|Defense}}, {{stat|Special Attack}}, {{stat|Special Defense}}, and {{stat|Speed}} raised by two stages each. While Tatsugiri is inside {{p|Dondozo}}'s mouth, the latter will be unable to [[recall|switch out]] (even if Tatsugiri faints), or be [[:Category:Moves that switch the target out|phazed out]]. A held [[Red Card]] can still be consumed, but will have no effect. The Trainer will not be able to select moves for Tatsugiri, and any opponent's moves (even if it has {{a|No Guard}}) will miss if Tatsugiri is targeted. Tatsugiri will continue to take damage from [[status condition]]s (such as [[Poison (status condition)|poison]]), and the effect of {{m|Perish Song}} will continue normally. {{a|Imposter}} can successfully Transform into a Tatsugiri in Dondozo's mouth. When Dondozo [[Fainting|faints]], Tatsugiri returns to its normal position in battle. Commander will not reactivate if Tatsugiri faints and is replaced with another Tatsugiri with Commander, however Commander can reactivate if Dondozo is revived after fainting.

{{m|Role Play}}, {{m|Skill Swap}}, and {{m|Entrainment}} fail if either Pokémon has Commander. Commander cannot be copied by {{a|Trace}}, {{a|Power of Alchemy}}, or {{a|Receiver}}. Commander cannot be replaced by {{a|Mummy}} or {{a|Lingering Aroma}} or traded by {{a|Wandering Spirit}}.
