Firstly, please cease the back and forth on that article, use the talk page as there's already a discussion about it. You repeatedly removing it is blatant edit warring. Secondly, the 1938 bit is fine. Superman is not what's being referenced, the year is. And as Anza said, you can't copyright a ''year''.
