Shield Dust (Ability): Difference between revisions

Pokémon with Shield Dust are unaffected by the [[additional effect]]s of other Pokémon's damaging moves, including additional effects provided by {{a|Poison Touch}}, {{a|Stench}}, [[King's Rock]] and [[Razor Fang]]. For example, a Pokémon with Shield Dust cannot be {{status|freeze|frozen}} by {{m|Blizzard}} or made to [[flinch]] by {{m|Fake Out}}.

Shield Dust has no effect on [[status move]]s (such as {{m|Thunder Wave}} or {{m|Leech Seed}}).

Shield Dust prevents a Pokémon's {{status|burn}} being cured by {{m|Sparkling Aria}} if it is the only target of the attack (even in battles such as [[Double Battle]]s, as long as there are no other targets of Sparkling Aria); however, if the attack has multiple targets, all targets will be cured on burn even if they have Shield Dust. ({{m|Wake-Up Slap}} and {{m|Smelling Salts}}, which also cure status conditions, are not considered to have additional effects and thus are not affected by Shield Dust.) This behavior is unique to Sparkling Aria—for example, Shield Dust prevents a Pokémon from being {{status|paralysis|paralyzed}} by {{m|Discharge}} regardless of the number of targets.
