* Naomi is the first character based on a [[Non-player character|non-playable]] generic {{DL|Pokémon Trainer|trainer class}} to be made into a playable sync pair.

Naomi's design based on the female {{tc|Sightseer}} trainer class from the [[Alola]]-based [[core series]] games. This trainer class often uses the Kantonian forms of Pokémon with Alolan [[Regional form|regional forms]], though no sightseer in the core series games uses Sandslash outside of [[Battle facility|battle facilities]]. Sandslash's Dex entry comes from {{pkmn|Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon|Ultra Sun}}.
