Heahea City first appeared in ''[[PASM08|Going Ashore and Neighboring Akala Island]]''. [[Professor Kukui]] transported {{adv|Sun}} and {{adv|Moon}} there by boat so that Sun could begin the [[island challenge]]. Shortly after arriving, Kukui left to visit the Dimensional Research Lab and asked Sun and Moon to wait at the docks until he returned. While they waited, Sun and Moon were approached by [[Kiawe]], [[Lana]], and [[Mallow]]. Outraged that a person not native to [[Alola]] was taking on the island challenge, Kiawe chose to battle Sun in order to test if he was worthy enough to participate in it. However, the battle ended when Sun and Kiawe discovered each other's common interest in saving up money.

In ''[[PASM09|True Identity and the Totem Pokémon of Brooklet Hill]]'', while Sun, Moon, and the [[Trial Captain]]s went to the Heahea City [[Pokémon Center Café]] to discuss about Sun's upcoming [[Brooklet Hill]] trial, Professor Kukui visited the Dimensional Research Lab and sent data regarding {{p|Palkia}}, {{p|Giratina}}, and {{p|Bronzong}} to his wife [[Professor Burnet]]. The two also discussed about [[Lillie]] and {{DL|Light trio (Adventures)|Lunala|Nebby}}, with Kukui learning that the latter is actually a [[Legendary Pokémon]] called {{p|Cosmog}}.
