Pokémon Legends: Arceus
After the player succeeds in quelling the five noble Pokémon, the space-time rift above Mt. Coronet turns the sky red, causing Kamado to banish the player from Jubilife Village. Volo then escorts the player to Cogita, who advises them to create the Red Chain so as to quell the legendary Pokémon responsible for this event.
With the help of Adaman or Irida, the player seeks out the lake guardians; after putting the player to trial, Uxie, Mesprit, and Azelf each bestow the player a small slate. When the player takes these slates to Mt. Coronet, the lake guardians gather and use them to forge the Red Chain.
Depending on which Clan leader the player allied with, either Dialga or Palkia will appear at the Temple of Sinnoh. The Red Chain acts to restrain its power, but is broken in the process, forcing the player to face the legendary Pokémon in battle and catch them. Though they are successful, the other legendary Pokémon emerges from the rift in a frenzied state, requiring the player and their allies to flee. The pieces of the Red Chain, gathered by the Clan leaders, are then used to create the Origin Ball at the behest of the player's legendary Pokémon.
