Thompson was born as William Robert Thompson sometime on January 22 in Vermont, and became a voice actor as an adult. He joined the Pokémon anime during ''[[Pokémon the Series: Black & White]]'', specifically [[S14|its fourteenth season]]. His most prominent role during that time was [[Burgh]]. Thompson then crossed over into ''[[Pokémon the Series: XY]]'', where he gained the notable roles of [[Ash's Greninja|Ash's Froakie, Frogadier, and Greninja]]; as well as [[Squishy]], [[Z2]], and [[Clemont's Luxray]]. Most recently, Thompson voiced the {{tc|Team Skull Grunt}} [[Tupp]] during ''[[Pokémon the Series: Sun & Moon]]''.
