Shamus' personality somewhat resembles [[Paul]]'s, as both only sought and desired strong Pokémon, and refused attempting to bond with them, and treat them with respect. However, Shamus differs himself from Paul, as while Paul was ruthless and somewhat brutal, Paul was a fair Trainer who respected those who'd give him a fair challenge, and even when faced off against Trainers who are unworthy of his time, Paul simply brushes them off, while Shamus attempts to intimidate others into giving him their Pokémon as "winnings" from a battle, seen as when Shamus was trying to force [[Kylan]] into giving him his Pokémon. | |||
