EP088: Difference between revisions

While traveling on {{AP|Lapras}}, {{Ash}} and {{ashfr}} are caught in a {{m|whirlpool}}. After they regain consciousness, {{Tracey}} identifies the island as [[Pinkan Island]] based on the whirlpools and sheer cliffs. They climb the cliffs and see a pink {{p|Rhyhorn}}. Tracey decides to {{pkmn|watcher|observe and sketch}} it, and Ash, in order to prove to {{an|Misty}} that he knows what he's doing, races up to the Rhyhorn, who promptly knocks him away. Ash runs over to Tracey, and the two boys head for where Misty and {{AP|Pikachu}} are. The team is cornered by the steep cliffs, but fortunately and {{TP|Misty|Togepi}} uses {{m|Metronome}} and {{m|Teleport}}s them away. The Rhyhorn goes over the cliff, landing in a tree, and the team wonders how they escaped. [[Officer Jenny]] arrives and together they rescue the Rhyhorn with her jeep a set of ropes. The group notice Pikachu's tail and cheeks have turned pink. Much to Ash's relief, Jenny explains that the [[Pinkan Berry|Pinkan Berries]] turn any {{OBP|Pokémon|species}} that [[Pokémon food|eats them a lot]], permanently pink.  

{{TRT}}, having noticed the Rhyhorn, arrives on the island. They soon spot {{an|Jigglypuff}} and think its special until they realize all Jigglypuff are pink. Before Jigglypuff can sing its song, they run off into the forest, planning to catch the pink Pokémon and open their own theme park. They use their Pokémon to catch the pink ones, and {{TP|Jessie|Lickitung}} chases two Pink Nidoran into a cave, and runs straight out in fright. A {{p|Nidoking}} emerges from the cave and chases Team Rocket away.

Meanwhile at the Ranger office, Jenny informs the group that Pinkan Island is a reserve and that she won't press charges. The trio contacts {{an|Professor Oak}}, who knew about the island and its pinkness, and he tells them about the research before {{AP|Muk}} gives him a hug. An alarm sounds and the team offers to help Jenny. Team Rocket is still being chased and attempt to defeat Nidoking, but Jenny and the others appear. They perform their {{motto}} and Ash has Pikachu use {{m|ThunderShock}}, thus shocking Nidoking. Nidoking throws the Rocket Pokémon at their owners and they blast off. Nidoking chases the trio and Jenny, and both {{TP|Misty|Psyduck}} and {{TP|Tracey|Marill}} attempt to {{pkmn|battle}} him, but ultimately run off scared.  

Pikachu tries to shock him, but Jenny informs Ash that Nidoking is on a rampage and cannot be stopped. Nidoking uses {{m|Hyper Beam}}, but Togepi uses Metronome again and creates a {{m|Barrier}}. Jenny tells the trio to get out and run. She engages Nidoking and lassos him, and Nidoking drops to the ground dizzy. Jenny drops the team off beyond the whirlpools and Misty contemplates Togepi's actions. Ash and Tracey laugh at her suggestion of Togepi attacking. Ash notices Tracey's sketch of Officer Jenny and sniggers, though Tracey explains that he cannot just watch Pokémon. Misty attempts to get Togepi wave its arms to attack, but is unsuccessful.
