== Mythical Pokémon ==
I think Mythical Pokémon should be considered special Pokémon. To my knowledge, the term "special Pokémon" is used in two places:
*Battle rules in Generation IV
*The GTS in Generation VI
In Generation IV, every set of rules except "No Restrictions" (which you cannot view the rules for) and "GS Cup" states that "Special Pokémon" are banned, and players cannot use special Legendary or Mythical Pokémon in those formats. The GS Cup, which was introduced in HGSS, specifies "Limit 2" for "Special Pokémon", and if you press the "Check Special Pokémon" button the game will tell you all of the special Legendary Pokémon you have seen (not Mythical Pokémon). There is no other indication in-game that Mythical Pokémon are not permitted in these rulesets.
My speculation is that in DPPt (when the GS Cup did not exist), "Special Pokémon" was intended to refer to both special Legendary and Mythical Pokémon, but when HGSS wanted to create the GS Cup, the term was re-purposed to only refer to special Legendary Pokémon, otherwise I would expect some indication in the Gen IV rule descriptions that Mythical Pokémon were prohibited.
In Generation VI, "special Pokémon" in the GTS refers to both special Legendary and Mythical Pokémon. Due to the fact that only HGSS uses the term without referring to Mythical Pokémon, and since the more recent Generation VI usage does include them, I think we should consider Mythical Pokémon to be special Pokémon and just note the error in HGSS. --[[User:SnorlaxMonster|<span style="color:#A70000">'''Snorlax'''</span>]][[User talk:SnorlaxMonster|<span style="color:#0000A7">'''Monster'''</span>]] 09:11, 17 October 2017 (UTC)
