Talk:Z-Move: Difference between revisions

The Power calculation states that a move with a base power of 20, when powered up into a Z-move will usually have a base power of 100. However, for a move with variable base power such as Power Trip, which has a displayed base power of 20, creates a Z-move with a base power of 160. This is likely because Power Trip can vary in base power, however, no matter how much stronger the actually base power of Power Trip is, It always creates a Z-move with a power of 160. This is true for all moves with variable base power such as Gyro Ball, Heavy Slam, and Grass Knot. This information is in contradiction with what the article says, therefore, shouldn't this fact be clarified in the article? :Good catch! However, please note that just linking to :Category:Moves that have variable power will not be enough to include all exceptions; some moves that are (currently) listed as moves that power up do also not fit that pattern. Until someone finds a better formulation, I think the current formulation ("for moves with fixed base powers") may be quite sufficient. :Why doesn't someone just create a move category called "Moves with abnormal Z-Power Calculation"? (Yater31 (talk) 05:46, 9 December 2016 (UTC))
