::I think the name might come from "Lunula[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lunula]" actually. Lunula has a variety of meanings but most of them are related to the moon in shape or design. One of them was even a collar (see the gold lunula page[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gold_lunula]) in the bronze age and Lunala has a similar looking crescent moon collar.
