::::::::Well, no. Harden in game is ''kataku naru'', meaning become harder/stiffer/tougher. the attack name for stiffen is ''katamaru'', which means to harden/to stiffen/to toughen. Slightly different, thus Stiffen has been used as the translation as recent as Platinim Series.
