As a committee member from the Bleach Wiki, I have come to ask you a mediawiki-based question about the welcome template here. I noticed that in the template, the signature is automatically placed through use of "<nowiki>~~<noinclude></noinclude>~~</nowiki>". Well, I tried to get this to work on some templates over there, but when used, the expected result did not appear, and instead just resulted in 4 ~'s showing up but not replaced by a signature. While typing this message, however, a thought occurred to me (that happens too damn much) that the reason might be because you guys use "subst:" and we don't. Whether or not this ''is'' the reason, I'm just looking for a response, because I do somewhat want to make this work over there. Thanks for your time. :You do need to substitute the template for that to work. The way it works is that on the template page, the noinclude tags prevent it being parsed as a signature. When it is substituted, it gets inserted without the tags, making four tildes in a row, so it gets parsed as a signature. When the template is called but not substituted, it effectively executes it from the template page without actually transferring it, so while it ignores the noinclude tags, they still exist and break up the sequence of tildes. As a result, without the substitution, it behaves just like on the template page - as two separate pairs of tildes. <span class="sc">[[User:Werdnae|<span style="color:#2D4B98;">Werdnae</span>]]</span> <small>[[User talk:Werdnae|<span style="color:#009000;">(talk)</span>]]</small> 05:04, 21 September 2013 (UTC)
