:In both Colosseum and XD, if you ever miss a Shadow Pokémon, there is always another chance to get it. No matter how many times you miss it, it will be somewhere. You can fight Cain multiple times, but for some other Shadow Pokémon, they usually show up in the Snagem hideout after the credits roll.
