I've been into Pokemon ever since Red and Blue made it to the United States, but I resisted a bit until I actually watched someone catch Mewtwo on their copy of Blue on the playground at recess in 3rd grade. Over ten years later, I've since grown to love many of the 649 known Pokemon and have stayed with the series ever since (albeit with variations of how much I show my love for the series XD).
