'''Imposter''' (Japanese: '''かわりもの''' ''Eccentric'') is an [[Ability]] introduced in [[Generation V]]. It is the [[signature ability]] of {{p|Ditto}}, albeit only available through {{pkmn|Dream World}}.

As soon as the user comes into battle, it {{m|Transform}}s into its opponent, copying the opponent's stats exactly, with the exception of {{stat|HP}}. Imposter copies all stat changes on the target originating from moves and abilities such as {{m|Swords Dance}} and {{a|Intimidate}}, but not from items such as {{DL|In-battle effect item|Choice Specs}}. Imposter will not Transform the user if the opponent is an {{a|Illusion}} or behind a {{m|Substitute}}. In [[Double Battle]]s Imposter will affect the opponent in the position directly opposite to it.

Imposter does not copy its opponent's {{IV}}s but it does copy all {{EV}}s except for {{stat|HP}}.
