+I just wanted to tell you that I discovered something...quite odd. It appears that two Pokémon, Mewtwo and Deoxys, are actually based from characters of the EarthBound series!
+Mewtwo may be based on {{wp|Giegue}} (Giygas), the main anatagonist of the Japan-only {{wp|Mother (video game)}} , before his body and soul were destroyed by its own PSI powers in {{wp|EarthBound (series)}}. Since many people working for APE.inc, including Benimaru Itoh, went on to Game Freak to create the Pokémon Series, it is possible that Mewtwo may be based on Giegue. Also, EVE(not the female droid from WALL-E!), a space alien virus, share this cliché with {{p|Deoxys}} The reason fans think Deoxys may be based on EVE from {{wp|Mother (video game)}}, is because both are alien space viruses who went under mutation when they were struck by a laser beam, and with the fact that most people who produced the {{wp|EarthBound (series)}} went to create the Pokémon series, it is very likely that EVE was Deoxys' origin.
+Not only that, but Giegue/Mewtwo are extremely similar, only Giegue is blue, has a sereine face, has a warm heart and has longer and bigger 'ears' than Mewtwo's. EVE's sprite is almost identical to Deoxys' Normal Forme, so I don't think there's a coincidence between these two Pokémon and EarthBound aliens. What do you think?
