I read somewhere that you can fight Prof. Oak with his actual team by doing the Ditto Trick with a special of 226, then using Growl on Ditto six times. Yes, all of this is true. Gary is an exception however, because he has several teams all occupying different identifiers (i.e. special stats). Regarding whether Gary has Jolteon,Vaporeon or Flareon on Pokémon Yellow that relates to another byte which will normally range from 1 to 3.
